Since he just got signed: Martavis Bryant. I literally thought he died until I saw the news
NFL
A place for NFL news, game highlights and everything that excites you about American Football.
Remember how god damn good David Johnson was
I thought Deion Jones would be a consistent top 5 LB.
Travis Fulgham will always hold that for me. In hindsight he was probably never anything spectacular but he flashed when the Eagles had fuck all at the WR position (I am a proud owner of a Greg Ward jersey).
Everyone saw the potential in him. He got way too many chances for a guy who just doesn’t want to put on the work.
David Irving is the first that comes to mind for me. Had flashes where he took over games like Aaron Donald but just did not really care enough
Larry Johnson. Dude had back to back 1700+ plus seasons for KC. After that…poof
Fred Jackson. I remember he was a solid RB from back in the day
Edit: I appreciate the responses guys! I felt like he just went and disappeared one day from the league.
Tom Brady was playing until like last year. Seemed like a decent QB, still fairly young, then just dropped off the map. ???
It's not even a good one, just one I personally experienced. The name "Mohammad Wilkerson" popped in my head while watching the Jets, and I wondered where he went off to. Turns out he's been retired for quite some time. These seasons really go by way too quickly.
Pat Angerer - Best name EVER for a MLB aside for Dick Butkus. Flashed, retired and now does last I heard local circuit pro Wrestling
Marcus peters , had a lot of hype around the draft and on the chiefs. Surprised he got dealt to the rams. Haven’t heard about him at all until he had that pick 6 vs the lions a few weeks ago.
Chris Ivory is a guy I haven’t thought of in forever. I think he had a pretty decent career.
Jonas Gray
BMW. Big Mike Williams of the Lions.
Sidney Rice and Miles Austin...they were both breakout fantasy players right around when I stopped doing fantasy.
The first one that came to mind was Vic Beasley. He really just disappeared off the face of the earth after that one good year in 2016.
Montee Ball
Phillip Lindsey. Went from undrafted to pro-bowl and disappeared after leaving the Broncos.
Trey Burton comes to mind for me he was part of an amazing play with the Eagles in the Super Bowl vs New England he went to the Bears afterwards and then just disappeared after that
I mean an obvious one is Aldon Smith. Imagine what he would have done if he stayed out of trouble
Travis Fulgham on the Eagles for me. Granted, they were practically left with practice squad WR's at this point, but everyone was super hyped on the dude as he had like 3 or 4 weeks of pretty great play (comparatively speaking). Then he just disappeared one day, not even playing poorly, just not playing at all.
Edit: Scrolling down I see he was already named, but ah well.
Toby Gerhart. Remember he was solid on the Vikings and then went to Jax and I never heard of him ever again
JR Reed for the Eagles looked like a potentially dynamic kick returner. Then he damaged some nerves when he tore up the back of his leg while jumping a fence.
Shaun Alexander and Priest Holmes. Both had 27 TD seasons and then disappeared.
Devonta Freeman
Todd Gurley
Dri Archer
Jarvis Landry
DeAnthony Thomas
Jay Ajayi. Exploded onto the scene taking us to the playoffs in 2016. Never heard from him again
Honestly I remember when Kwon Alexander would be hyped up and then it would die down. Then hyped up and die down. Same cycle.
Shawne Merriman was a beast before he got busted for peds +injuries.
Alfred Morris was elite and then randomly fell off the face of the earth
This is quality offseason content.. oh, wait it's week 10.
Marvin Jones Jr. I’ve had a crush on him since he Mossed Eddie Jackson his rookie year.
Just glanced at his stats and they don’t look too bad for someone who’s had a career as long as he has.
Glen Coffee lol my niners friends are always surprised I remember him. Prob b/c I used him a shit load in Madden that one year.
