The difference is that O'Connell still hasn't really put up production against anyone. He's still got 7 more games to make his case though.
If he threw for nearly 300, he'd probably have at least 3 picks, but that shows the coaches understand his limitations at his stage of development and I'm cool with it.
I understand trying to be positive. And I understand why he's playing over Jimmy. We have to learn. He is 2-0 as a starter. But AOC is not a good qb thus far. He is making some really bad judgments.
There.is no point in getting Hoyer or Jimmy G back in there. But AOC is not going to be the QB of the future, and ya'll need to accept that early.
I really like AOC man. He needs the support of raider nation more than ever right now. Once AOC fully embraces and owns being a raider i think the sky’s the limit with him. I hope AOC feels our love and support because the good majority of us want to see the dude succeed. MUCH love to AOC

Those are the people that only want to be triggered and pissed, those are the people that when the Raiders win they still talk shit and speak down on everyone.
Do you guys know what this Jets defense did vs Josh Allen, Mahomes, Herbert, or Hurts? Besides Herbert (who had 136 yards 0 INT and TD) they INT every one of those QBs 3 times (Mahomes had 2 INT).
AOC had 1 INT and 1 HUGE TD. AOC persevered after the INT and settled down 2nd half vs a DISGUSTING top 5 defense. Yes a rookie in his 3 rd start and tbh realistically his 2nd normal start since JMD was trying to sabotage him vs the Chargers so he can start Jimmy.
Whoever talked down on AOC, go get your football IQ up. If he’s so terrible I guarantee you Adams would be hyped and all smiles.

I'm the most doomer person on this sub and even I've been happy watching this team. When people on the game thread were saying AP can't call plays and he's trash, I was like can you give the guy who knows defense and never been a head coach a couple fucking games. This isn't Gruden 2.0 or JMD who have lots of experience. Give the guy a break. We haven't had a happy locker room in a long time.
And we were missing Kolton Miller. This team has legit potential to be frisky down the stretch
Nice context. He's averaging a touch under 200 YPG in his 3 starts, which is fine for a rookie.
I do worry how he'll do in games where we need to score more I.e. not the stalling Jets, but so far so good - getting the wins!

He’s getting better every game he plays. That TD pass to Michael Mayer was a perfect example- he felt the pressure but kept his poise, extended the play by bouncing outside of the pocket and gave his receiver a chance go up and get it
He's a rookie, only a couple games started. Wasn't perfect, but was good enough.

The best take I've seen so far (I think from Twitter): the Jets defense made the raiders offense look like the Jets offense, while the Jets offense made the Raiders defense look like the Jets defense.
I was happy with him getting to play and doing decent. He’s a rookie and he’s doing better than “I hear footsteps Garoppolo”
Anyone calling him trash is just an ignorant cry baby. We just got exactly what we have been hoping for, a win in a competitive game against a solid D. This is how you build and get better.
I fully expected us to struggle on offense since any reasonable fan knows how good this jets defense is despite the other issues they have as a team overall. Look at the numbers almost every qb has had a rough time against them. AOC is going to have ups and down and maybe he’s ultimately not the answer but we’ve gone 2-0 and AP is clearly getting the guys to play with a completely different edge and mindset.
I can't accept any hating on AOC from Raiders fans or anyone else. he doesn't have a real coach or OC and got thrown into being a starter for or toxic organization. I feel for the guy.

Someone asked the other day what we thought his line would be. I said 189 1 TD - 0 turnovers. The response was “I’ll take it!” He was close to that and had the one TO. I thought he played well for a second start against a top D. People are being delusional if they are criticizing him harshly.

I find these posts hilarious. Apparently, Dak is a terrible QB who threw 31/38, 255 yds 2 tds, 0 ints, and had a QBR of 112 against this same Jets team. Yet, these are the QBs they list. It's almost like they cherry-pick their data.
