Note: This will be a version update, so will be available to download from your app store in approx 22-23 hours from the time of this post. Based on recent updates, all content including summons will be available immediately after updating. Note that the notice has advised of some game assets that are being replaced, so the download is expected to be approx 1 GB beefier than usual, so the standard warnings about making sure you have enough time/space/data for the download especially apply this time!

Content information:

• New episode added, A Paradise of Imperfections. Previous episode The Closed-off Open World and the Azure Rebel must be cleared to be able to commence this episode, and progression in the episode will also require Main Story Chapter 65.
• Astral Archive books related to the episode added.
• New encounter character added, Xianhua.
• Extra Style added for Anabel.
• Guiding Star Encounter (1 time only, paid) added, offering a 10% chance at one of 10 eligible characters.
• Star Dream Encounter (1 time only, paid) added, offering a choice of character to encounter up to the current update.
• Various Fateful Encounters added.
• Kuchinawa's character quests added to the Replay Story feature.

Gameplay adjustments:

• Batch difficulty (adjusting difficulty for all content with adjustable difficulty levels) can be set from the Quests page.
• Skills adjusted upwards for Galliard and Helena.
• Non-type Magic damage now makes sense in relation to resistance buffs/debuffs.

Campaigns:

• 1 time log-in reward of 1,000 Chronos Stones to celebrate 7th Anniversary.
• Daily log-in bonus increased to 100 Chronos Stones until 21st May.
• Complete the new episode and its pre-requisite episode by 21st May for special bonus rewards of 1,000 Stones per episode. Previous completion applies for the purpose of the reward.
• Complete the player survey to receive 100 Chronos Stones.

Whoops, I absolutely thought the update wouldn't be until after the livestream, but here we are!

It's possible we might also have an update coming on 26th Feb? I'm not actually sure at this point, but we'll definitely find out in the livestream tomorrow! And if there's no update then, there definitely will be on 9th March... probably.

This post has spoiler text.

This was partly inspired by a poem called "The Lady of Shallot", by Lord Tennyson. In it, a woman from Arthurian legend is cursed and forbidden to look at the outside world. She can only look at the world through a mirror and weave what she sees through the mirror. One day, she sees two lovers through the mirror and is sick of her cursed life saying, "I am half sick of shadows". She decides to defy her curse and look at Camelot and ends up seeing Lancelot and falls in love. But by doing so, she is cursed to die. Before that, she gets into a boat and floats down the river to Camelot. There are many different interpretations to this poem.

It made me think of Mayu, who was tired of only living life experiences only through her own figurative mirror, from the hospital. She would see people come and go, but never lived those life experiences herself because of her illness. A son who could look forward to eating pancakes with his parents after he got better. High school friends who came to visit a classmate. And seeing Isuka surrounded by people, wishing she could be friends with her and be like her. She knows she doesn't have long to live, so she eats a blue apple to live her dreams in the virtual world. And her desires are fulfilled, in a way. A dream-world Isuka is her best friend. She is given an IDA uniform, is able to fly, and is free from the constraints of the terror of time. Some of her desires even manifest in the real world, where hallucinations of students come to visit an old friend (as well as a burning hospital and streams of butterflies, but anyway). But doing so also seals her fate to inevitably succumb to her illness through lack of medical care (although she didn't expect to survive anyway). Sometimes having poor health feels like being cursed in life. The difference in this story is that it tries to leave a message of hope. Perhaps the butterflies are meant to evoke images of rebirth and hope in this story (besides her admiration for Isuka, obviously).

An issue has been identified that results in potential crashing on restarting the app while in an Another Dungeon if EXP items or Grasta Alchemic Ores surpass 999, so it's recommended to avoid stockpiling this.

• Whisper of Time Token will give a free 10x summon daily up to the maximum 10 tokens, rather than just being the usual single summon.

So I recently found out about the new Stellar Awakening for newer characters (and released for some older characters). They get a level cap upgraded from 80 to 100. So it's basically a sly way of making 6 star characters without saying they're 6 star characters. I haven't been able to pull any new Stellar Awakened characters, so I haven't experienced it myself. But I've heard some mixed responses. I think the mechanics are getting too complicated for me. We have 3 battle gauges now, lol. AF, EX and Stellar. What do you think?

• Whisper of Time and Whisper of Time Drop - From 7 Dec to 26 Dec obtain a Whisper of Time for a free single pull each day, up to 10 times. After the 10th time, you can initiate a Whisper of Time Drop encounter, guaranteeing a 5* character up to the current pool.
• Daily log-in stones increased from 20 to 50 stones from 6 Dec - 26 Dec UTC
• 1000 Chronos Stones for starting the Symphony
• Choice of one of three 5* characters for completing Main Story Chapter 13 (including previous completion) - Anabel, Isuka or Melina
• New players will receive 1000 Chronos Stones for starting the game
• New Catch-up Campaign - Key item (ladder) drops from various previous Episode and Symphony dungeons will be increased 10x until catch-up with Japan

QoL Adjustments

• Main Story Part 1.5 no longer requires Episode Two Knights and the Holy Sword to be cleared
• Amy's Character Quest 2 is now available even at 3*
• Main Story Part 2 no longer requires The Closed-Off Open World and the Azure Rebel to be cleared
• Certain Main Story Part 1 dungeons have had their material drops and EXP increased and encounter rate decreased
• Exclusive items in Elzion and Ratle shops have been discounted
• Increased EXP Badge rewards from Mayor's battle lectures
• Allowed map jumping to the areas before the boss battles in Industrial Ruins, Nadara Volcano, and Tower of Time

Future Update

• From January, changes to Premium Subscription Services are planned, increasing the amount of Tsubura's Gems obtainable while on Guide of the Heavens trial, as well as adding access to additional Allcosmos Starcharts.
• From February, premium Subscribers will also gain access to Cat Express Tickets, which allow skips of previously-cleared Another Dungeons

• NPC added in Egarim who can unreforge weapons, refunding materials but not gil.

Campaign:

• Clear Cliffs of Wyrmrest by 31st Dec to receive an increased achievement reward total of 1000 (up from 30), across the three relevant achievements.

Stellar Awakening:

• A new system to increase the potential of certain 5* characters is available.
• Stellar Awakening requires filling the Awakening Gauge for each character to 3.
• In first update, this will only be available for Aldo and Cerius.
• For story characters, this is available via their specific tome in Astral Archive, eg Book of the Dragon Bearer for Aldo.
• For gacha characters, you will increase Awakening Gauge by 1 each time you summon the character as 5*. Subsequent gauge can be gained via further summons, or using a rare Allcosmos Starchart, which will be available in limited supply each month.
• Summoning a character you have already Stellar Awakened will give additional light/shadow instead.
• Stellar Awakening benefits include level cap increased to 100, stat increases, new Skills, Stellar Burst battle mechanic, and a special fancy character screen background.

Next projected update in two weeks, 7th December, with most likely the Symphony being announced in the coming livestream! Possibly also a new character, and an Astral Archive tome added for another story character. We'll see.

I expect this to all be rehashed in a couple of days with the actual update notice, so not going to do the detailed info right now, but going to be a juicy update!

Also, simultaneous release is announced for 26th Jan, all set for Global anni.

• Note that the key treasure chest will commence on the daily update after the update drops. If you haven't updated the app before claiming that day's cat delivery you won't receive the key treasure chest.

Catch Up Campaign Addition:

• Doubled achievement rewards for certain challenge content (listed below). If you've previously cleared these challenges, you will receive the additional rewards automatically.
• Defeating Uquaji from levels 100 to 195 will have doubled rewards, totalling 1,000 additional Chronos Stones
• Completing the Normal and Extreme versions of Trials of Cascading Quakes, Perilous Tides, Burning Rage and the Firestorm will have doubled rewards, totalling 600 additional Chronos Stones.

QoL/UI update:

• Encounters with a pull limit (added from this version onwards) will now display how many available pulls remain.

For the release of Main Story Part 3 Volume 2, the freebies are being piled on us, with 10 guaranteed 5* characters in total, most of which are available immediately depending on story completion.

• A 4-part ticket will let you select one of a limited pool of characters from the relevant story sections to either add to your team or enjoy the free light. Part I: Tsubame or Tsukia, Part II: Kikyo, Part III ""The Twist": Heena or Yukino, Part III "Conclusion": Necoco or Garambarrel.
• An additional ticket (receive up to 3 in total) will let you summon on one of three banners (one time per banner) for a guaranteed 5* from that time period. Tickets require having started Part III "The Twist", Part III "Conclusion" and Vol.1.
• In addition, starting Vol. 1 will give you a guiding drop that lets you summon a random Lance, Sword, Fists or Hammer user.
• Starting Vol 2 on release (middle of next week) will give you another guiding drop for a random Staff, Katana, Bow or Axe user.
• And we have a daily Whisper of Time, for up to 10 in total, of which most will be robots etc, but culminating in a Whisper of Time Drop for another free 5* character!

New Catch-up Campaigns!

• Supply Drop 3 - 3 Enemy Encounter+ Badges, 3 +30% EXP badges, 600 Special Fragments, 100 Special Crystals!!!
• Exp dungeon will give 10x the usual experience at both difficulties.

QOL changes:

• The Select Character filter will now save filter options when returning to the screen from Character Details.
• Added an icon to visually identify enemies with an Aura in battle.

Next projected update 17th Oct, with livestream a couple of days ahead, bringing new main story content, new characters, new mascot!

We've got a few chronos stone reward campaigns expiring as at the end of the month, so if you've been procrastinating on them (like me) and want the stones, make sure to do the following;

• 3 escapes from the Timetwisted Maze (4th floor counts) - 300 stones total
• Start Ensemble: Commander and Sheep - 90 stones (+10 for normal reward)
• Clear Challenge difficulty in the Astral Archive - 490 stones (+10 for normal reward)
