Overview:

The community dedicated to boycotting the US until they stop fascism, restore full democracy and start following international law.

Americans have a moral obligation to resist Donald Trump and project 2025 at every turn.

America is a flawed democracy currently being ruled by oligarchs. Stop the backslide! Dont let America become the next Hungary.

America needs to challenge the court rulings of citizens united v. fec and shelby county v. holder, protect the media, implement independent district drawing, and the single transferable vote so they don't end up having people stay home in life-changing elections because they cannot vote for their favourite candidate.

Until you get a chance to leave behind Google's Android operating system completely, here's an article I saw with a few fairly simple things you can do that will reduce (although not eliminate) the ability of Google and others to scrape your data and monetize you.

I already do step 1 (Firefox etc). But looking at step 5, for example, my phone had all those ad options set to "on".

"There are three factors," he told The Register. "The first is really the unreliability, because we see what Trump is doing and the danger is that things will be just switched off from one day to another for negotiation purposes. Then we see the whole question around pricing with the tariffs.

"And then the other thing is really the espionage factor. This is relatively new and surprising to me ... but now you see what Musk is doing, that you can access really confidential databases ... I think this is a realistic fear nowadays."

Anvi Ahuja received a text message transcript of her conversation with her roommates during their Lyft ride home on March 11.

The company confirms the incident took place, but has offered varying explanations.

After CBC Toronto contacted Lyft about this story last week, a Lyft representative called Ahuja. She says they told her the company is running a pilot program where audio is recorded from some rides and then the transcript is supposed to be sent to the ride-sharing company for reference if a security issue is reported.

In a statement to CBC, a Lyft spokesperson acknowledged that the ride-sharing company has an in-app audio recording pilot in select U.S. markets with "strict opt-in protocols" but said this incident is not related to that pilot program or any other feature being tested by Lyft.

If anyone needed another reason not to use their "ride sharing" companies.

Best case scenario - this international crisis with The States pushes Canada to start enforcing PIPEDA (I know, let me dream).

A lot of brands have flourished so much in the US that they "feel American", but are actually not at all!

Jami vs Skype: welcome to where your privacy matters

In an era when online communication is dominated by centralized platforms, Jami sets itself apart by offering a freer, more privacy-friendly approach. Like Skype and other similar services, Jami lets you make audio and video calls, one-to-one or in groups, exchange messages, share files and much more. However, unlike Skype, which relies on proprietary servers and collects personal data, Jami adopts a decentralized philosophy. Here are a few key differences that make Jami a unique alternative for users concerned about their autonomy and privacy.

According to a new study by the Angus Reid Institute, 76% of Canadians say they’re boycotting American products.

61% of Canadians also say they’re cancelling or delaying trips to the U.S., while 86% say they’re buying more Canadian products.

“The cross-border data already proves it: Canadians are cutting back their travel to the U.S. to levels last seen during COVID-19. These numbers may drop further, considering that 3 in 5 Canadians say they’re cancelling or delaying plans to travel across the border. In addition to this, the proportion of Canadians saying they’re boycotting American products or buying more Canadian products is already high and appears to be growing.”
