I transferred USDT out of my trust wallet to my coin base account (I’m Canadian btw) I realized that I can’t trade USDT on Coin Base so I transferred my USDT to Phemex. I did a test transfer of $10 to Phemex the transfer was successful after that I transferred the rest of my USDT to Phemex. I bought XRP ETH and ADA with the USDT I just transferred, the purchases were successful and I had all my holdings in the spot account in Phemex.

The following morning, I logged on to check my account and everything was gone, no record of any transfers and all the funds were gone, it was if the accounts never existed. I reached out to Phemex and they did not have any record of my deposits or any transactions.

After tracking the addresses I saw the money had been redirected to a wallet labeled (Coinbase 10) on etherscan, I contacted Coinbase and it looked to them as tho I did a normal transfer to this unknown wallet, I went back to Phemex and asked them for info on the wallet and they told me that it was not associated with there exchange whatsoever.

I have no idea how I was able to make trades on Phemex, If anyone could explain what this is or how it was possible that would be a great help! (I never got the money back)

US Investment vehicles such as Stocks, Bonds, High Yield Savings/CDs, etc., are used Internationally and have an large impact on the Global economy evidenced by the Great Recession, 2008 Financial Crisis, etc. When US inflation goes up, rates go up, yields on all of these investment vehicles change, and the global economy slows. The US has an outsized impact on the Global economy, and the Federal Reserve largely decides the cost of capital for the globe (rates) since it is the backbone of the US Financial System.

In other words, when something happens in the US, global rates and investment yields change. Cash goes from yielding <1% to 5% in a few years. Variable rate loans may become crippling, and stock and bond yields change.

Meanwhile, regardless of what happens in the world, ETH still yields ~3-4% from Staking and BTC will stay on its fixed inflation halving schedule (1.76% -> 0.88% in April).

A Financial System which for example has the Inflation spine of Bitcoin, and reliable yet low consistent yield of something like ETH Staking could create a predictable spread between inflation and investment yield.

Predictability creates Stability, Stability sets the groundwork for Economic Growth.

This is a first time for Argentina. Source in Spanish:

The previous administration forced Argentina's citizens, with a law, to use Pesos in every commercial transaction. Every other currency, be it fiat or crypto, was forbidden.

With the new administration since 10th December 2023, and with that law derogated, Argentinians are now free to pay debts in whatever currency involved parts agree upon. With that change now in place the first long-term house rental has been signed up and the monthly rent will be paid using one of several cryptocurrencies.

This might sound like tin foil hat stuff, but i really see this as the most plausible explanation for the X "hack" - it was done to test whether there was going to be a sell the news dump or a buy the news pump so that people could place huge long or short positions on a fairly solid bet.

Now that sounds logical to me imo, but heres the conspiracy part, people from the government ordered Gensler or someone to do it, or Gensler himself did it, knowing the SEC will "investigate itself" and find themselves innocent.

There's going to be the same questions asked OVER AND OVER.

Which coins are you holding?

How do I do this defi stuff?

Is x coin worth it?

BTC and ETH seem like they aren't gonna make enough money for me. I'm going for y coin based on no DD.

I got ~HACKED~ what do I do?

Should I get a hard wallet?

Is BTC gonna go up, down, crab based on this upcoming news.

I'm gonna do leverage/heloc/second mortgage/loan to buy crypto, and I refuse to listen to reason or statistics.

Remember, kindness does a long way. Hold firm to what you know to be true, and help people become knowledgeable enough to do the same for others. With the financial incentive of moons gone, there will be different sort of karma farming, and of course that means adapting, but I think this sub actually has some solid rules of thumb:

DCA

BTC/ETH

don't leverage

Remember this is gambling

Nobody here is qualified (or willing) to tell you financial advice, only general conceps

Best way to make BlockChain and Crypto have a decent future? Be part of the culture being positive.
