Hello, So I downloaded the binance app the other day because I needed to send a small payment for some things, and I can see in the application that I have 23USD worth of bitcoin in the wallet. But when I try to scan the QR code, I can somehow not withdraw from the account. How does it work? I'm new to this and feel a little bit confused.

In the app I press the withdraw button, and choose the bitcoin wallet. Then I try to scan the QR code and it seems to catch the address, but the button for withdrawal is basically disabled.

My trading challenge for 2024

It’s January 1st, 2024! Happy new year y’all! It is also the perfect time to set yourself some trading challenges. Here is mine:

I am going to try to find, build, and run a profitable trading strategy in Python by only using ccxt (for convenience) and querying ChatGPT 3.5. Backtesting needs to be done locally in Python with data retrieved by ccxt. So no TradingView magic or similar.

I have no clue how far this will take me, but I’m up for it.

Want to join me? I would love to hear your struggles!

(the coding language used is free for anyone to pick, as long as ccxt and ChatGPT supports it)

So here we are, new year but I still haven't learnt my lesson.

There was this function, which was convinient for beginners - binance original defi wallet. It really helped me get into web3 a little bit. I had some fun here and there but also had some cake staked on this wallet. I forgot about it till now, but when I tried to get into my wallet and collet my staking rewards it struck me there is no such function anymore. Can someone tell me how to proceed further and retrieve my funds? And has it happened to someone as well.

Last I knew, no exchange provides tax forms for trades/transactions which means we have to use a program like koinly to get all of our transactions and calculate the gains/losses. That was super annoying so I basically stopped trading because I didn't want to deal with that and pay for another tax service. It's extra complicated when there are multiple exchanges involved. I am pretty much just curious if things got any better and taxes are/will be easier for 2024 year or if koinly is really still the only option?

«Bitcoin fees have become a hot topic, triggering diverse opinions as the cost of sending BTC reaches abnormal heights. BitInfoCharts, a statistics resource, reports an average transaction fee nearing $38 as of December 17, stirring a debate among bitcoin enthusiasts.

The surge in fees is attributed to the recent influx of Bitcoin Ordinals inscriptions, causing a spike in transaction costs for all network users. According to the BitInfoCharts report, the current on-chain costs are the highest since April 2021.»

Is it possible to prevent Ordinals without ending up with a hard fork? In other words, is it possible to prevent Ordinals through a soft fork?

Hi!

I am new to the cryptosphere. I had a plan on asking you cryptoexperts;) here what you think will be the top performer this next year. I will not Say what I have invested in as of now But I can Say that theres not a lot. You can if you want describe your favourite for 2024 with some information what the crypto does aswell, if not, I will probably look into it anyway

It’s a bit sad that this sub doesnt allin polls cause that would be easier. I dont want to invest in what you would vann shitcoins/memecoins. I want to invest in projects that has a future and the tokenomics to back that.

I understand that some of you finds my post strange and want one stupid idiot like me to put the money in safe projects like BTC or ETH But I just want to, for once, be in a project before it’s praised upon by the bigger scale. I wont invest money I dont have, I just want to give Crypto one chance :) Otherwise, I will go back to other investments and you want have to see me again The top 10 liked comments with a specific crypto, I will invest $100 in each (I am not rich, yet) and I will continously show the progress of the 10 coins.

Who knows, maybe I will get ”stuck” in this crytpospace:)

I am very sorry for my bad english

Have a blessed new year and be safe :)

For all I know, a block is mined when the header hash is lower or equal to the current difficulty. That's true on a single miner.

What about in a pool mining where there's multiple miner mining a single block? How does the pool know that each miner is actually hashing billions of times?

To verify it, the miner could send all mining blobs and it's hash, and the server would verify that all this blobs, matches with the hash submitted together, confirming that they're doing honest work, but thats just more work for the pool.

Welcome to the Monthly Optimists Discussion thread. As the title implies, the purpose of this thread is to promote discussion which is guardedly optimistic about cryptocurrency topics. This thread is intended to be a counterweight to the Skeptics Discussion thread and will be pinned when the markets are bearish.

Please read the rules and guidelines before participating.

Rules:

This discussion thread has much higher standards compared to the Daily Discussion thread. Please behave in accordance with the following rules.

  1. All r/CC rules apply.
  2. For top-level comments, a minimum of 250 characters will be imposed as well as a minimum of 1000 comment karma and 6 months account age.
  3. Discussions must be on topic, ie positive but not to the point of being absurd or utopian. Statements should be substantiated with sound reason and/or evidence. For example, announcing an obscure online store is adopting coin X for payments and then speculate Amazon will adopt it next without evidence. Also, discussions about market analysis, financial advice, or tech support will most likely be removed and is better suited for the daily thread.
  4. Low-effort comments promoting coins or tokens will be removed. For example, comments saying “Buy coin X!” or “Coin X is going to the moon!🚀”, showcasing the current composition of your portfolio, or stating you sold coin X for coin Y, will be removed. In other words, no shilling.
  5. Offensive language, profanity, trolling, and satire will be removed. This thread is intended for mature discussion.

Most of the above rules will be promptly enforced upon top-level comments by AutoModerator. Please report shilling or any comments which violate the rules.

Resources and Tools:

  • Read through the Cointest Archive to find positive material to discuss and consider participating in the contest if you're interested.
  • Click the RES subscribe button below if you want to be notified when new comments are posted.

Original Title: Likelihood of investing in cryptocurrency is more than double in men compared to women. Also, those open to investing in cryptocurrency tend to exhibit lower levels of agreeableness and conscientiousness, but higher levels of openness to experience and financial overconfidence, finds Norway study.
