Heyyy. With the promise of a bullish 2024 in the air, let's dive into some strategic planning. Imagine you've got $10,000 sitting in your bank account right now, and you're eager to dive into the crypto space. What coins would you pick, and how would you divide your $10K?

Let's spark a discussion and help each other make informed decisions. Here are a few questions to kickstart the conversation:

  1. Diversification or Concentration: Would you diversify your portfolio across multiple coins or concentrate on a few? What's your reasoning behind this approach?
  2. Blue Chips or Hidden Gems: Are you leaning towards well-established coins with a track record, or would you explore lesser-known projects with high potential? Share your thoughts on balancing risk and reward.
  3. Long-Term vs. Short-Term Gains: What's your investment horizon? Are you aiming for long-term growth or planning to capitalize on short-term opportunities?
  4. Risk Management: How would you mitigate risks in a volatile market? What strategies would you employ to protect your investment from potential downturns?
  5. When to Take Profits: Setting an exit strategy is crucial. What indicators or milestones would prompt you to take profits? Are you considering a gradual exit or waiting for a specific price target?
  6. Avoiding Common Mistakes: Share your insights on common pitfalls to avoid when building a crypto portfolio. What lessons have you learned from previous experiences?
  7. The $10K Plan for 2024: Break down your ideal allocation. How much would you invest in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other altcoins? Any specific projects you believe have tremendous potential?

I am here to learn and love to hear your guys view and to learn.

Back in April I managed to turn 300 to 7000. It was my first time making it big with little cash. I thought everything was good until I checked my balance the next day only for it to be drained. I wasn’t sure if my devices like laptop and computer were compromised or if it’s only my wallet, so I haven’t used them since. Finally had some time to get back into it but worried about some hacker lurking in my devices. I was connected to my metamask an messing around with uniswap. Am I SOL? Do I need to go get new devices if I want to keep trading? What is your recommendation of what I should do?

AboutRosen Bridge

Rosen bridge is an Ergo-centric bridge enabling users to send and receive coins and tokens between Ergo and any other chain. The other chain, say chainX, however, should support multi-signature transactions or threshold signatures.

In this bridge, there is no need to deploy and utilize smart contracts on the other chains since the consensus on any action can be done on the Ergo platform by a set of Guards, resulting in a signed transaction (txn for Ergo or chainX). These transactions can be broadcasted to the other chain by any party including the Guards.

I'm not sure if I'm calculating it correctly. It seems a bit complex. Here is the scenario.

  1. I purchased same cryptocurrency on 2 separate occasions with 2 different prices.

  2. I then sold off some of that crypto(there is a remainder unsold).

  3. I then purchased some more of that crypto.

  4. I then sold off some of that crypto.

How do I calculate the profit/loss I made when I sold crypto in step 4?

My understanding is that it should be (Selling Price − Weighted Average Cost per Unit) × Quantity Sold

Where:

Selling Price = Proceeds of the sale / Quantity of crypto sold

Weighted Average Cost per Unit = Total cost of all purchased crypto / Total quantity of all purchased crypto

Total cost of all purchased crypto = Sum of fiat paid for buying crypto across all 3 purchases

Total quantity of all purchased crypto = Sum of cryptocurrency acquired in all 3 purchases

So if I bought 10 crypto for $1000, then 10 crypto for $500, then 100 crypto for $100. In the last sale I sold 2 crypto for $10.

The profit/loss for the sale in step 4 would then be calculated this way:

(10/2 - (1000+500+100)/(10+10+100))*2 = -16.67

So loss of $16.67. Am I right and this is how complex it is to calculate it or am I tripping?

I feel like this isn't talked about enough. It seems like most of the discussions here are about "price go up", which I totally get, but I'd love to hear more discussion about utility and usability of these blockchains that we're investing in. Obviously, Ethereum is the largest blockchain that utilizes smart contracts and DApps, but there are a bunch of other ones out there that offer similar utility. While I personally don't have a lot of experience with any of these platforms, I'd love to hear from people what their favorite platforms are to use. For example, which platforms feel the most fluid? Which ones are the fastest? Most secure? Lowest fees? I look forward to hearing your responses!

I'm able to get a ~2% loan for a value of around $70,000 payable back in 2 years. Im currently earning enough to pay it back each month with a part of my salary. I was initially not gonna take it but now I'm wondering if I should take it and purchase crypto with it, maybe 5 different ones (BTC, ETH, MATIC. ATOM, one more). Unless I lose my job, I'd not be in a bad position to say it back and even if I did, I'd be able to dip into savings to cover a month or two. Within 2 years, I'd like to believe this would be a safe investment. What do you guys think?

I know I’m out of touch. Stopped investing in crypto in 2017. But one of my favorite projects was NEO. Well back then it was called Antshares.

The things I love about it are simple.

-Finite supply. 100 million tokens are all that will ever been made.

-It’s been around and functioned successfully since 2016, maybe earlier.

-smart contracts

-BEST THING ABOUT IT. You can hold it securely in a wallet and vote for a delegate and currently recieve 19% APR in the form of gas. No sending your coins to a scam site, you can rest assured that they are safe while generating 19% APR!!!!! People in the stock market are chasing 6%

I’m a massive bitcoin maxi, but after this next bull run I’m thinking of selling a portion of BTC to live off the passive income.

Also NEO was $200 in 2018, and over $100 in 2021. It’s undervalued right now at $14.

Anybody else feel the same about this Cinderella?

Rosen Bridge is LIVE - app.rosen.tech

The UI to Rosen Bridge has been enabled, allowing public cross-chain liquidity transfers between Ergo and Cardano for an initial subset of assets:

▪️ADA ▪️ERG ▪️RSN ▪️SigUSD ▪️SigRSV

The first of many bridges and assets to come!

Rosen is an Ergo-centric bridge fortified with multi-layered security protection. In the initial layer, Watchers monitor network activities and report valid bridge-related events to the subsequent layer, Guards. These Guards then carefully process the reported events and execute required actions. In brief, Guards are dedicated to security maintenance and executing responses, while Watchers are focused on the ongoing monitoring of activities and transparent reporting.
