Decided to make this community for the game I love to help see it grow here. I currently intend for this community to encompass all things Destiny, including Destiny 1 and 2, but we'll see how things go and adjust from there.

A few rules are located within the sidebar, as well as some community resources, creators, and other Lemmy communities.

Until an automated solution is found, weekly and daily reset information can be found here at D2 Checklist, also linked in the sidebar, unless myself or other members create reset posts, TWID posts, etc. Go share this community around and try to help grow it!

Feel free to make suggestions for the community here as well. All input is welcomed!

For new Lemmy users, here is a a quick guide to Lemmy. This guide is for lemmy.world, the instance we're located in, but the basics of how Lemmy works applies to any instance.

TL;DR:

  • Content releases during Heresy will be different. Most stuff comes out when it starts but some stuff will be time gated to encourage players to check back in.
  • Lots of changes to Exotic armor I think are too much to cover here. Go read the article.
  • Aim assist on controller is getting adjusted so that if an enemy crosses your target after you've been aiming at it for a while AA won't pull you off target.
  • Lots of changes to weapons and Exotic weapons I think are too much to cover here. Go read the article.
    • They're making changes to Telesto. Maybe it'll gain sentience now.
  • More changes to some specific weapon perks
  • A list of guns for ritual activities.
    • Palindrome is finally returning.
  • A list of weapons leaving.
  • Game2Give 2025 is launched.

Big article about Crucible updates. I've been out of Crucible since before The Final Shape so IDK how to assess any of this info.

The TL;DR for Trials is that it's moving away from going flawless to get to the lighthouse and instead rewarding Adepts on drop chances that increase if you keep up a streak.

Looks like we're getting some new and returning guns for all Crucible modes but I'll look at those when they actually come out in the next episode.

This is nice and all but Crucible changes is not what this game needs to get people back into it.

This is the first TWID we’ve gotten with some substance in a while. TL;DR:

  • New Dungeon is called Sundered Doctrine. Takes place in Rhulks Pyramid. Dungeon race starts Feb 7th.
  • New Arc Verb: Bolt Charge. Builds up stacks to release the Arc equivalent of an Ignition with ability damage. Having more stacks also builds melee charge.
  • Three new aspects added. Hunters get a Void one while Titans and Warlocks get arc. There’s videos in the article that preview them.
  • Hunters go invisible to mark nearby targets. Defeating targets grants stacks of a buff and creates a smoke cloud.
  • Titans cast class ability to grant Bolt Charges. Standing behind a barricade with max stacks allows you to call down lightning with weapons instead of abilities.
  • Warlocks get an Arc Turret (like the stasis turret) that blinds enemies.
  • Lots of balance changes I’m not going to list here.
  • New event like Rivens Wishes called Past is Prologue starting this coming reset.

I know there are many many posts about FotL 2024 and all the issues but was wondering what the Lemmy community thought about it?

I'll go first and spout the frequent criticism of no MM for expert difficulty. I don't understand these decisions, I'm in the everything should have MM and players can opt-out if they like.
