It is already a NATO colony with military bases. NATO would not object to more US presence as part of NATO mission. EU/Denmark would not object to FDI from US for resource exploitation.

The only possible reason for a US "national security" claim is that as a prelude to withdrawing from NATO, it needs to threaten EU further. Any economic exploitation is BS prohibitive due to lack of infrastructure, but if it happens it must be without fair compensation.

Optimism

spending more on defence means spending less on other priorities. But it is only a little less. On average, European countries easily spend up to a quarter of their national income on pensions, health and social security systems.

This of course is because Russia had to boost military production to fight off NATO evil, and so the only obvious solution is soylent green, and mandatory draft.

Seems like the new ruler's alliances will be strongest towards Turkey, which is one of the angriest nations vs Israel. It would seem very divisive/factionalizing to become a US/Israel colony like Jordan.
