While the "Hide IP with Tor" option is activated in InviZible, I can't download any apps from Neo Store. The download just fails, furthermore, screenshots on the app page for example aren't loading either.

The weird thing is, I even made it so Tor isn't activated for Neo Store in the Fast Settings. I'm not sure what's happening here, any help is greatly appreciated

Edit: After more testing, it's not just Neo Store. Basically none of my apps work (including my browser). Is this normal/a common issue?

I'm an ebookdroid refugee - I loved the app, but the developer abandoned it and with a relatively recent Android update, it stopped working. Librera speaks to me the most, of all the readers I've tried, but I can't seem to get a satisfying experience reading with it. In book mode, I can't seem to get zoomed-in pages that're also easy to flip through. In scroll mode, I can get the pages exactly the size I want them, but they move around whenever I use my thumb to scroll. I've tried reducing the margin size in scroll mode, hoping that would help with that last issue, but no luck. I'd appreciate any advice, my reading habit has been comatose since they pulled the plug on ebookdroid.

Installing Lawnchair added two new apps, "Tutorial" and "Experience hub".

I can't open the tutorial but the name is quite self-explanatory anyways, but does anyone know what the "Experience hub" does? Clicking on it doesn't result in anything and I didn't find anything online.

Title. Searching for some time without success.

Currently using etar but for some reason the icon is not dynamic with default system icons. Same with the default clock app. I'm on lineage os

Sleep Cycle is a propriety alarm app that I really want a Foss alternative for. The only features I like are the 30-minute wake-up phase, where it only plays the alarm if it detects noise, and the smart snooze, where the duration of the snooze decreases until you reach the end of the wake-up phase, where you can't snooze anymore. These features make waking up so much easier for me. Are there any Foss apps that have similar features?

Hey. I have been thinking of an app that keeps tracks of homely chores - and syncs accross devices.

Like someone adds countdown to turn off the water pump. after the timeout, alert all phones in the network. someone marks done, dismiss all notifs.

also, a reminder feature, for example. to buy groceries at a certain point in time (alert everyone + strikethrough if someone marks as done).

basically, a todo + note taking app for a family.

every device acts as a mirror - any newly installed app syncs from all devices (automatic push/pull or an admin to grant access).

an admin can also send an instant, dismissable broadcast message.

thanks for reading.

Hi, I finally got a smartphone (Z3 Compact with Lineage microG) and I wonder if someone can avoid me a painful search for a music player that satisfies the following:

  • On F-Droid, FOSS.
  • Has gapless playback.
  • Has ReplayGain (even better if it supports non-standard FLAC tags like peak in Opus files).
  • Has parametric EQ; mandatory for my Shure headphones.
  • Offline (i.e. no network permission required).
  • Random album (play album in order then pick a random album, etc...) would be very appreciated.
  • Proper split albums support or filesystem based playing (I sort and tag my stuff).
  • A lockscreen widget would be nice too.

Thanks for reading.

is there any app that's built to mimic gboard features but is os or foss?

This is the kind of app that I miss the most a FOSS alternative. Unfortunately never found one although seems simple to implement it....hope some developer listen to this.

Pixel phones have pixel exclusive features. One of which I love is the ability to copy a text and edit it before sending it to the clipboard.

Are there any apps that provides this functionality?

If not, can anyone do that?, A request from my side. I would love to see material 3 design in it

Thank you

I'm thrilled to introduce you to TextBee, an open-source Android-based SMS gateway application that I've developed. With TextBee, you can now send SMS messages programmatically through a REST API or directly from the dashboard. Whether you need it for notifications, reminders, marketing purposes, or any other creative use, TextBee has got you covered!

The best part? TextBee is completely open-source, and you can access the code on GitHub: github.com/vernu/textbee. Feel free to explore, suggest improvements, and contribute to the project by forking the repository and submitting pull requests. If you find it valuable, don't forget to star it!

To get started with TextBee, simply sign up at textbee.vernu.dev. The user-friendly interface and intuitive features will make your SMS management experience a breeze. Plus, you'll have the freedom to customize and tailor it to your specific needs.

I'm eager to hear your feedback and suggestions on how we can make TextBee even better.

Cheers!

Hi, I'm looking for a gboard alternative with swipe. I have tried Florisboard but it wasn't a great experience (words in English were very wrong, and in French it would keep suggesting English words even though it should have been properly configured for French...). I've tried openboard but it doesn't have swipe (or I couldn't find how to enable it?). I downloaded them both from f-droid if that matters.

Can you suggest anything? Thank you!

How strict are the limitations of hardware support? Does lack of support mean it won't work well or at all?

I want to be able to work on files on my computer and my phone. On PC side things are easy you just install the app for the clpud storage of your choice and designate a folder, but on the phone you need third party tools, and I am not sure if I can trust a proprietary app.

I've been looking for a legit caller ID and or spam/robo call blocker that ISNT riddled with ads. I tried the true caller route but eff that! That was causing major issues on my s21 ultra because it kept forcing itself to be your SMS and caller app; I have separate apps for that and simply wanted the caller ID aspect.

Also a good spell checker/auto correcter out there. Idk if there are standalone apps which you implement with the keyboard of your choice or if its all built in to the keyboard. I've tried the few options which are Foss keyboards with auto correct built in and they have all been lacking... I suppose open board has been best thus far but still not great.

Also, forgot that I've been looking for a great ad/spam/tracker blocker but also a security app such as a VPN. It seems like there's only one available slot for a VPN and all the suggested ad blockers are VPN based, then how could you secure your traffic then? I'm currently using ad away and I suppose its OK but I still get certain ads somewhat frequently... Idk if there's a better solution. I like the idea of adguard but that just confuses me with the need for a key or lisence to get the most out of it.

That's all folks

Hi, on a phone on which access to wifi and data is broken, I sideloaded 2 navigation apps :

  • OsmAnd #OsmAnd
  • OrganicMaps #OrganicMaps

Both rely on OpenStreetMap maps. However,

  • launching OsmAnd prompt me to a page saying "no internet connexion", hence me skipping download and landing on a map with big city names (according to my GPS coordinates) but blank content (no lines)
  • launching organicmaps, I get the same issue, it prompts me to download the World map, but the phone isn't able to do so.

So my simple question is, is there a ressource out there, telling us what file format each navigation app needs the map to be, and in which folder to inject it ?
