I've been a Revenant main since the lockdown where I finally bought the expansions after some time of going in and out of GW2, never reaching level 80.

It wasn't up until like two years ago that I started to look for other classes to learn and actively play and honestly, that's where I found I'm not a multiclass person. I need to play one character and have all the important stuff on that character, and everything else is to be parked or just picked for WvW raids if there is a need for it.

But no matter how much I try to apply this "main" mindset to Warrior or Guardian, I always come back to Revenant. Even though in WvW/PvP is far less useful and far less customizable, I just keep coming back.

I just logged into the game today as normal, realized I was in lions arch instead of wizards tower and noticed that I lost access to all expansions, what happened and how can I get support with this? I'm using the Steam version btw

Hi all,

Recently I was looking for some new gameplays to try out. I found that there isn't really anywhere specified, which weapon is supposed to which type of damage for classes.

So I decided to make this post in hopes, that it will get archived somewhere and can be used for future.

This is also reason for the tittle, as this is I belive what most people will type into google search in first place.

Please, correct anything that is wrong and Ill try to correct post. If it was already done, sorry for repost

Hey everyone,

I’m a dedicated DPS Chronomancer player in raids and endgame PvE (this post is strictly about PvE, not WvW or PvP), and I need to talk about the upcoming balance patch.

While the patch isn’t live yet, the announced changes are already causing a lot of concern for DPS Chrono mains like myself.

I’m all for balancing the game, but the current changes are going to leave DPS Chrono in an awful spot while other builds, like Pvirt and even the previously underperforming Pmirage, are getting the attention they need. Here’s why this is a problem.

The patch targets the overperforming Boon Chrono and the ridiculously overpowered Pvirt by nerfing the weapon skills they share with DPS Chrono: Spear 2, Dagger 2, and Dagger 3.

While I fully support nerfing Boon Chrono and Pvirt, the issue is that DPS Chrono, which is already a very niche build, is getting hit just as hard with zero compensation buffs. Meanwhile:

  • Pvirt is getting nerfed but will still remain strong due to its overall kit and a buff to its f5 and utility skill Rain of Swords.
  • Pmirage, which is currently underperforming, is getting such massive compensation buffs that it’s projected to compete with Pvirt post-patch.
  • Boon Chrono, while nerfed, will still be viable because it has little competition as a power damage alacrity provider with unparalleled utility.

So, what happens to DPS Chrono?

It’s getting left in the dust. The benchmark for DPS Chrono is already misleading because it relies on double Continuum Split (CS), which doesn’t happen in real fights due to phase timings and mechanics.

On top of that, DPS Chrono has a very delayed burst, making it completely unsuitable for encounters with short phases or fractals.

With these nerfs, it’s going to fall to the bottom of the DPS charts, making it a completely suboptimal pick in endgame content.

This doesn’t have to be the case. The patch isn’t live yet, and we still have a chance to influence the devs.

My suggestion is simple: buff Chronophantasma, the one trait that differentiates DPS Chrono from Boon Chrono. This would give the DPS variant the boost it needs without affecting the boon support build.

So, here’s my call to action:

If you care about build diversity and fair balance, now’s the time to speak up. Let’s push for a buff to Chronophantasma to save DPS Chrono before the patch goes live. Comment, share your thoughts, and make sure the devs see this. Together, we can make a difference.

TL;DR: The upcoming patch is going to leave DPS Chrono in the dust while Pmirage and Pvirt remain strong. We need to act now to get the devs to buff Chronophantasma and save DPS Chrono before the patch goes live.
