Seriously, nothing rarks me up more than seeing people in the C*ntdown carpark leaving their trolleys next to their carpark because they're too lazy to walk 20 metres and pop it into the trolley bay.

Happened to me today. I was getting back to my car and this lady next to me just finished loading her boot up, slid the trolley right next to my car and then went to hop in her Volkswagen. I jokingly said, ahh that's a funny looking trolley bay! And she gave me snarky look before hopping in and going off on her merrily way home while I walked the trolley back giving her a nice big wave.

Stop being lazy c*nts. This is how people's cars get dinged. Grow up

My partner was waiting for her physical Wise Card to arrive for her trip overseas tomorrow when just this morning she noticed transactions totalling $2600 NZD made midnight last night, from Bunnings, Caltex, Flamingo, and Burkes Cycles.

We froze the card and reported to 105 Police and Wise. We suspect they stole it from our post box the day before and started spending as much as they could.

The card wasn't yet activated and we were under the impression that even if it was taken it couldn't be used, but looks like we were mistaken.

Massive bummer given the funds have been deducted already and she needed them for her trip overseas. We don't have insurance but hopefully the funds can be recovered somehow.

I guess this is just a bit of a rant and a reminder to be wary of theft of valueables from your postbox.

At 800-675-8463 (800-msl-time). From the sound of it, and certain phrasings in the recordings, we're almost certain that gear and its recordings haven't been touched since the 1980s. Especially at the end there, "if you would like to contact the service providers, please phone Wellington-569-0000 during office hours". We haven't heard someone do a phone number in the city+number format since the last time "Katikati-27470" was a valid phone number lol.

Hi all, I work in a sales role covering the lower north island. I am based in the Taranaki region. If you drew a line from here to Dannevirke, below that is my territory. I work with pretty niche machinery/equipment that can be used by multiple industries. My numbers are particularly low so far this year. A lot of my customers are saying it's very quiet all over. GFC quiet. Is it just the industries I am working with or is it actually quiet in all industries?

Turns out Yeah Nah does not translate well into latin.

I tried Cant Handle the Jandal, it sounds impressive until you reverse the translation and it turns into 'you can't touch the shoes'

Every time I visit Katikati I think, "Damn, I'd like to live here". Theres lots of op shops, and a neat little skate park. I love the Sapphire Springs pools.

Any locals want to chime in and tell me what it's actually like.

Looking at the jobs on trade me / seek it's only 20 hours a week, 12 hours 4 on 4 off or 10-12 hours 6 days a week?

Maybe its just because of where I live but there's almost nothing with the traditional hours.

-Totally forgot about G Code recording.

Every kiwi I know is either terrified or somehow angered by these little guys - but they're harmless. They don't even want to be inside your house, they just wandered in where it's warm.

Gisbourne cockraches aren't known carriers of disease, and they don't tend to get into food supplies, unless they're rotting.

I have known big tough guys who scream and flee when a cockroach appears. Just put them outside and continue with your day.

And yes, I know home-made is far, far superior, but it's not possible in this case. Packet gravy will have to do. But I haven't bought any in yonks, and would like to get the least shitty option from the supermarket.

Is it just powdered stuff that's available, or is there mid-tier slightly bougie chiller stuff nowadays? (I'm thinking like with soups, there's shit-tier powdered stuff, and then mid-tier chiller stuff in pouches, and then of course top-tier is home-made for those with time and effort in abundance, of which I have neither). This will be for chicken. Supermarket cooked chicken/bachelor's handbags of course, for the same reason. I need to take shortcuts.

Original Title: I should be doing something productive but instead I created this daft picture with an idea: what if we put big reminders of some basic road rules on a handful of strategic billboards? Is it a silly waste of money or worth trialing?

How do I (F28) go about getting full custody of my 14yo sister? She hasn’t been home since September last year and has no desire to return home as our mother and her father are in active addiction and have been since before she was even in womb. Her case manager has said all we need to do is write a breakdown of what’s happened and why she can’t stay there but what else can I do to ensure she doesn’t have to go back? Because I know our mother will not agree to her going as she gets round $300 from the government for her.

I went through the same at 14 leaving our mothers, but I thankfully had my father to go too. I know a lot would’ve changed in the last 14 years since I was 14 so any and all advice would be greatly appreciated! 💕

What do we think about this? I find it hard to believe that the company didn’t know about this, so why would TVNZ continue to support them?
