I have always went with NVIDIA and have now broken that streak by upgrading to a RX 7900 GRE from my RTX-2070 since it provided a good value compared to team green alternatives. My experience unfortunately has been less than optimal.

When it works i get good performance, but that is when it works. Stutters has been alot more frequent compared to before and my games tend to crash alot more than usual. When playing CS2 i can expect to crash at least once or twice.

Has anyone had a similar experience or am i alone in feeling less than satisfyed with my purchase?

My drivers are up to date, i have sufficient RAM (32gb) and my cpu (14700kf) is more than enough so that shouldn´t be the issue.

I just built a new PC to switch from an am4 to an am5 platform. i decided that the 7 7800X3d would go great with my 7900 XT for 1440p gaming and put them on the gigabyte b650 aorus elite ax v2. After building it all together i start getting recommended the nexus gaming analysis video of the 7 7800X3d killing itself on various boards including the gigabyte b650 aorus elite ax. So i just wanna ask if someone knows if this is still a common issue for the 7 7800x3d and if there are precautions i could take to minimize the risk of it happening to me.

Moved into my new house about 4 years ago and my PC didn't survive the move. I was running a 3570k overclocked with a GTX770 originally and upgraded to a 1070 a few years later. I had a pair of Intel SATA III SSDs running in a Raid0 array (why? cuz I can) and they were the weak link.

Anyway, bought a bunch of new components in 2020 (including an Ultrawide 1440p 100hz monitor, my first foray into UW 1440p ever) when I moved into the new place but graphics card prices were ridiculous at the time and honestly, the price of a 70-series card these days still puts me off.

Anyway, put everything together and finally booted it up this past weekend and my 1070 is KICKING ASS!!! League of Legends at 100fps, Diablo 4 at 60fps, Far Cry 4 at 75fps, etc.

Obviously I'm not playing RDR2 or Cyberpunk or any of the new AAA games yet but for what I want to play right now, I'm surprised how well this 1070 is holding up. BEAST MODE!

Basically title. Want to build a pc mostly for 1440p. Was going to get a new build with a 4080super but I know that the 50 series is right around the corner. Do I wait for that or will the 4080 super be relevant for a long time for 1440p and build right away. Thanks!

Hey people please help me figure out the problem and potential solution for my laptop display.

When i set my refresh rate to 144hz some part of display looks like dead pixels and some part have horizontal lines and upper half is fine. (Pictures attached)

Now lowering it using Custom Res Utility earlier it worked good at 140Hz, then few months later similar thing started to happen at 140 then I lowered it at 135 worked fine there for some time and so on.

Current condition:

When I turn it on at at 130hz sometimes it shows some lines like these, I take it back to 60Hz then after using laptop for sometime I turn it back to 130 and it works fine (Kind of like warmup for display lol).

It's a matter of time then again I'll have to take it to something lower than 130.

What I've tried:

Resetting the PC (While keeping the files)

Updating the driver from device manager

Laptop: Asus TUF Gaming F15 FX506LI

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10300H CPU @ 2.50GHz 2.50 GHz

RTX 1650Ti

I Play a few games like minecraft, Valo

Here are pics taken from my phone:

At 144Hz:

144 Hz

Then at 133 Hz:

133 Hz

At 130 Hz as of now:

130 HZ

I want to get into pc gaming so badly but I’m not quite sure what I should get. I already have a ps5 so I’m not too stressed about having a 4K gaming experience. What should I get and where would be the best place to purchase them in Australia?

Edit: I am also looking for a prebuilt but if it’s like $300+ more to make my own I’ll look into it. Also I would really love raytracing.

For the first time I have took out my GPU and ram and receded it after my PC went through a boot loop it’s working correctly now. I’m just wondering what I could do to troubleshoot it to make sure everything works good.

My budget: around $500 USD maybe. I don't care if it is curved or flat. I just want something that works for anything: gaming, basic video/photo editing and enough screen space for multitasking. Thanks pals

I will use Windows and MacOS on the same setup

DDR5: 2x or 4x? (zerobytes.monster)

I’ve seen a few posts talk about whether or not 4 sticks of ddr5 is a bad idea, but nothing concrete. Is running 4 sticks of ddr5 with the current state of hardware a bad idea, and if so why? Also noticed no one sells a 4 stick set, only 2 stick sets, which is interesting to me.

I thought I was looking at a failing GPU fan, but setting MSI Afterburner fans to manual makes the fans run. I'm looking for advice: is it okay to keep the fans running manually at 50% all the time, or should I try something else? Thanks!

By the way, 99% of the time it was running at stock settings, and the GPU is around three and a half years old. I have an RTX 3070 Zotac twin fan.
