Prices on the rise and supply running low for the 7800x3d, I am weary of waiting. Strictly building for gaming and will be in a SFF build so the power draw of the 7800x3d is very attractive, however the 7800x3d is a $400+ chip now and with the 9800x3d in the works I am back and forth. Thought? WWYD?

Basically just had a chain company put together a new pc while using some old drives and psu from an old build.

  1. They called me and said the CPU was dead because the light didn’t show up on the motherboard.
  2. I went through the warranty process with AMD and got a replacement.
  3. Took the replacement to them and they said that CPU was dead too and that I should get another replacement.
  4. This took 3 weeks. I ended up just taking it home for the weekend because I was loosing faith is their ability at this point.
  5. When I brought the pc home the ram wasn’t fully clicked in and the CPU power was plugged into slot 2 instead of 1.

My cousin and I clicked in the ram and moved cpu power over and it booted. Literally 15mins of work. They charged me the full amount they quoted. Originally the were VERY confident that they would complete this build within the day. Which is why I took it to them.

Is it worth asking for at least a partial refund? Just seems like I didn’t get what I was promised.
