Hey so since i have my new screen (gigabyte M27Q X 240Hz), i had this issues a couple of time. When i play idk why my game is becoming blurry, when i try to disconnect and reconnect the DP cable i have no display. I nerver had that with my previous monitor : Acer Nitro XV271UM3bmiiprfx

Is this a harware issue, OS issue or just screen issue ?!

Here is my config : https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dBgWVW

I run on windows 11 and i have OC my GPU using msiafterburner at +175 core clock and +500 mem clock.

it's suppose be 1440p look how blurry it is, the res in game was still 1440p !!

Hello, I'm looking to upgrade my PC since i'm not getting the performance i want out of the one i currently have (randomly freezes, ocassionally BSODs, etc)

I currently own:

CPU - i9 10850k

GPU - RTX 3070

RAM - 128GB DDR4

I'm looking to buy something that's very high end since i edit videos full time, i need something that will survive for the next 6 - 8 years and won't make my After Effects experience a living hell.

Currently, here's what i'm going with:

Mobo - Z790 TUF

CPU - 14900K

GPU - RTX 4080 Super

RAM - 4x 48GB 6800 DDR5

PSU - 1000w Gold Tuf

Cooler - 360 LC Strix Water cooling

I'd love to ask if this system is sufficient for video editing purposes, I was also wondering is upgrading from DDR4 to DDR5 worth it? It's quite a big investment since they're not cheap. And i heard some horror stories about 4 sticks of DDR5 causing all sorts of issues. It's an investment i'm willing to make if the difference makes up for it. Will i notice a significant difference in my workflow because of DDR5?

Thanks!

mobo: Asus A520m-k csm Processor : ryzen 3 3200g No dedicated GPU 8gb ram 1 SSD, 1 hdd

Mobo manual says, connect 8 pin Internet says it's fine to connect 4pin in a 8pin slot or use adapter.

Which is best option right now for me?

Weird HDMI problem (zerobytes.monster)

Hi! I’ve been having issues with my PC for a while now.

My setup includes an LG OLED 77-inch TV in the living room, connected to my PC via a 75-foot HDMI cable (4K at 120Hz). In my gaming room, where the PC is located, I use an LG OLED 55-inch monitor with a 6-foot HDMI cable (also 4K at 120Hz).

The issue is that when I game in my gaming room, everything works perfectly without any crashes. However, when I game in the living room, the game crashes frequently, about twice an hour, with a DirectX error.

Could the problem be that the HDMI cable to the living room is too long or faulty? I never had this issue with my RTX 3090 using the same setup, and I’ve already swapped the RTX 4080 for another one to test, but the crashes persist.

Any advice ?

Hey guys. So I’m an IT student and I just started doing IT at a business and most of their workstations are old with 3rd gen intel cpus in them and occasionally freezing. They are on windows 10 so I’m just wondering if I’m right in saying it’s a hardware problem or if there’s anything I’m missing.

I've been playing no mans sky on my home pc with 12 GB of GPU ram, it ran fine for the last 2 weeks, the yesterday it started freezing up for no reason after 1 or 2 mins of gameplay, but the game starts up smoothly without issue. I've cleared the game cache, restarted my computer (many times), updated my graphics drivers, and fully uninstalled the game and re downloaded it, and its still crashing. I don't get any crash logs because the app itself doesn't crash but it stops responding and windows shuts it down. I have no idea what could cause this, any help would be great.

It's a few days that steam doesn't download, every other launcher does, I've tried to:

Clear download cache Uncheck/enabling write cashing on the device Reinstall steam Putting a cap to the download speed

Posting this for anyone in the future who may be frantically googling solutions like I was.

Long and painful story short, I had been having extremely high hotspot temps regardless of the cooling method on my Reference 6950XT. I tried all different kinds of paste, tried a Kryosheet, and finally PTM7950. Even if I could get my edge temps to a reasonable level, my delta was 40 degrees or more and my hotspot was running right up to the 110C thermal limit.

After one final application of PTM7950, I had someone suggest that the default driver boost clock of 2600mhz might just be too high for the Reference model cards (since they’re known for thermal issues).

I underclocked down to 2210mhz minimum-2310mhz maximum (the advertised boost clock) and my hotspot temp immediately dropped 30 degrees!

Which technically this is still a little bit of an overclock, because the advertised game clock is only 2100mhz.

My Steel Nomad score only dropped a measly 1fps from 42fps to 41fps, and my Time Spy graphics score is 21,500.

My thermals meanwhile are perfect now. Edge temps max out at 65C and the hotspot max is 75C — a delta of only 10 degrees!

I've been coping my game saves and pasting them in a backup folder i made so if i fight a boss that locks me out of something i can revert to a previous save but is annoying to close and open each time i backup my save. so my question is can you copy and paste game save files in a backup folder without closing the game?

Hey folks, I have an older PC that I built around 2017 or 2018. I can't afford to buy or build a new PC right now, but I need my computer to keep running Photoshop, Lightroom, and handling basic office-type activities (web browsing, word processing, etc.) for another year. I no longer game so that's not a concern. Right now just opening Photoshop or Lightroom can freeze most applications for seconds to minutes. My specs are as follows:

Mobo: MSI Z270 GAMING M3

CPU: Intel i7-7700K @ 4.2

GPU: MSI NVIDIA GTX 970

RAM: 2 x 8GB Corsair DDR4 2133Mhz

Hard Drives: Samsung 120GB SSD / Samsung 500GB SSD / Western Digital 1TB HDD

I really just need this computer to last me a bit longer or I need to build something for cheap. Realistically I'm not sure I can spend more than $250 CAD right now. Am I screwed?
