Everytime I see someone asking for recommendations I see about 90% of the comments saying Herman Miller, I was just wondering two things: Are there better chairs that maybe don't get recommended because the price is even higher and are there other good chairs for people who don't have 1k+ to drop on a chair?

I’m rocking a 3070 and a 7600x right now. I’m planning on upgrading the gpu to a 5070 or whatever amd equivalent and getting a 1440p 240hz monitor alongside to replace my 1080p 165hz. But after hearing about how nice 1440p upgrade is should I just buy the monitor now?

As the title says, I found a pc in the dumpster.

Components:

  • 2x Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz
  • An intel i7 11th 11700k cpu
  • Nvidia Geforce RTX 3060ti.
  • 2x 1tb SSDs

I would like to attempt to make one of those small form factor PCs, but if you guys were me, what would you build?

Title says it all, I'm considering building a new PC and have always built Intel, but I've heard bad things about the latest intel chips and have heard good things about AMD GPUs and CPUs. Are there advantages to using AMD CPU/GPU combos? Is it more price effective to go AMD?

When I was a kid, I remember not having a computer in my house. We had a NES, and I’d play with my dad and cousins. We bought those scammy 1000-in-1 cartridges. We’d play all kinds of games, no matter how pixelated they looked, or how silly the gameplay was. Sometimes the cartridges didn’t work, and we had to blow on them, or lodge something between them and the machine for them to work. We simply enjoyed gaming.

Now that I’m an adult, I have money to build my own decent gaming rig. I can download insanely beautiful games and play them in upscaled 4K with butter smooth FPS. However, gaming is much less enjoyable than it once was. What’s the FPS, average and 0.1% lows, does it dip below 60? What causes stuttering in certain areas, is it my machine or game optimization? Is the input delay caused by frame generation or is my controller partly broken? If my GPU could do RT, this lake would look so much better … Gaming wise, where are the hidden items and areas? How do I three star this stage instead of two? Why am I feeling dizzy, is it motion blur or the camera angle or my lack of exercise? … You get the idea. Just question upon question upon question.

Sometimes, I invite kids (my own nieces and nephews, to clarify) over for some weekend gaming fun. Let me tell you, they don’t give two shits about how 4K or pixelated a game looks, or how it stutters in certain areas, or how they keep dying to a certain jump 30 times. A game is a game, and they find in it only the pure joy of gaming and nothing else. Man, how I envy these little pals sometimes.
