So I’ve got monitors that are easily 10 years old at this point so I want to replace them.

I’m looking todo a 2 monitor setup. I would prefer VA panels but I’ll settle for IPS if needed. I don’t want to spend all the fun money I got right now so I would prefer each monitor to be under 200.

If it matters, I have a 2070 super GPU as of now. So HDMI and DisplayPorts are a must

I am building a gaming PC for my wife for Christmas, and I realized I completely overlooked a gaming headset.

My wife can be pretty picky, and I have been struggling to find her a good headset.

  1. I use the Astro A40, and she loves how they feel on her ears, as she has super sensitive ears, so leather/leatherette is a super bad choice, and even some fabrics are problematic. She says memory foam is typically to hard on her ears. So I am looking for a headset that uses the SAME exact material as Astro A40, some sort of cloth (their website only says cloth, I am pretty sure it is velour after research.
  2. She wants a Wired headset.
  3. She wants something that is light. Astro A40 is 369g or ~.81 pounds. She wants something significantly lighter than that. like 300g max. 20% lighter than Astro A40 at least.
  4. Not a requirement, but a preference on pink/purple, but she doesn't care about the color nearly as much as everything else.

So Does anyone have any recommendations for a Wired headset, that is light, that uses Velour for ear cushions, no memory foam or leather/leatherette/mesh

My current Idea is to buy a lilac Astro A10, and replace the ear cushions with replacement Velour ones.

I've heard "AIO" liquid cooling requires no maintenance. Should I get that, or a normal liquid cooling?

I posted this over on r/laptops, but have yet to get any advice so I'm hoping you kind people can weigh in.

I'm out of the loop on laptop CPUs and their naming conventions don't seem to be as straightforward as the desktop side.

The 155H does seem to be the better chip overall as evident in its name and pricing, but for office work and daily use, will there be any noticeable gains from the 155H over the 150U? And office work I mean Word and Excel mainly, and nothing even coming close to pushing the limits on what Excel can do. There will be HD video watching. I'd say 4K but the screens aren't 4K, 1920x1080 max. Word or Excel opening 0.2 seconds faster on one vs the other isn't the kind of thing to sway a decision.

There may be an outside chance (probably 1% or less) of doing some light gaming, but it's not a real concern that this will be used for games.

From what I can find, the 150U seems to outperform in single-core and also may conserve battery life better as its max power draw is slightly less than half of the max for the 155H. Anything multi-core the 155H wins hands down, but in this scenario I don't know how useful that would actually be. The user is not an Excel power user by any stretch. The 155H iGPU is also miles better than the 150U.

I prefer the one that looks similar to MS office.

Thank you!

Any help is appreciated. Are there any cheaper components that would give me similar performance?

I'll be ordering these components from the European Amazon

I plan to use ray tracing and probably max out graphics on most games but still wanna get 120+ FPS.

Currently have

MB: MSI B550M

GPU: MSI 6750xt

CPU: Ryzen 5 5600G

RAM: 4x8GB Corsair Vengeance 3200

Memory: 2xSamsung 990 pro 2TB m.2, Samsung 870 evo 500GB SSD

Resolution: have one 27inch 1440p 144hz as my main monitor and two 25 inch 1080p 60hz

Seeing some ok Cyber Monday deals, at first I was thinking CPU upgrade but when I searched in this subreddit people seemed to think upgrades from the 5600g weren't worth it. Maybe I'm bad at searching, but it seems I'm at the end of my upgrade path.

Is there anything worth upgrading? Or should I look for deals on better peripherals?

I've always used wired. Dont have to worry about batteries.

But I been debating about going wireless cause it will be less wires around the desk (less clutter), I can easily move the keyboard/mouse if I need too. Been thinking of getting a smaller keyboard anyways (one without the number pad) so the new wireless keyboard would take up less space.

Has anyone gone from Wired to Wireless, how do you feel about the switching?

Hi guys, I have a Lenovo LOQ with Intel CPU but it has only 1 ram slot which I will install 16gb DDR5. On the other hand there is a good offer with the same features except the AMD Ryzen 5 7235HS and 2 ram slots. We can think of the use case as gaming as it is the heaviest job that will be performed on this device.

I wonder if dual-channel makes a difference and if I should return the one with Intel and buy the other one. What do you think? Would single channel memory reduce the performance of the i5-12450hz so that it doesn't matter that it is superior to the AMD?

I have a B450 tomahawk the “O.G” board. Awhile back it failed bios update so I tried to flash and also took just the board and psu and tried to flash and failed. I think it corrupted its own flash chip but I don’t know who I can take the board too and have it looked at? Called around and no shops said they could help.

Suggestions?

I can use the board in another stream setup for my son.

As the title says, I really need help choosing a cpu for my gaming/work build. I wanted to go with an i9-14900K but I fear the issues with 13th and 14th are not enitrely fixed(intel says they are fixed but idk if i can believe them). I cannot find any AMD Ryzen 9 9950x anywhere, not even on sketchy websites. Is the ryzen 9 9900x any good? Should i go with a 12th gen intel? I can't really wait since my previous build(HP pavilion 15 gaming laptop, alsmost 7yo) is dying.

What’s graphics cards can I fit in this? I’ll have it Friday and want to upgrade a few things. Namely the PSU to a 400w or 500w, a dedicated GPU for light gaming (csgo etc) And possibly the cpu up to a i7 7700

Any other suggestions appreciated. My budget isn’t much. Plan on doing it little by little. Main question right now is what gpu I can throw in it. I’ll buy a bigger psu first if needed.

EDIT: this will be my first ever time touching the insides of a PC so please ELI5

I've got a 12600k now, a good friend of mine is in a bad spot financially and really needs a cpu upgrade. Trying to play modern games with him is a disaster, he's on a i5 6500 still. I'm giving him my 12600k and PA120, my other friend is giving him a B760 and we are splitting the ddr5 ram for him.

I found a 14600kf for $207 and a 14700kf for $250. Both cpu's are new. Main usage is gaming but I'm starting to get into rendering and unreal 5 development. Is it worth the extra $43 to go i7 here and what cooler should I be looking at getting?

I've got a Be Quiet 500dx case that's full of 140mm fans. Would something like the PA120 air cooler be ok or could I get away with a thermalright 360mm aio?

Going AMD is not an option, I don't want to buy a new motherboard and ram. Yes I know about the 13/14th gen issues, I've never had an issue when it came to RMA support from intel, I've used it twice in the past. Thanks for reading, appreciate any help.

During the OCCT AVX2 power test, the processor temp reached 100°C. What should I do in this situation? I've heard about undervolting, but I'm afraid to completely fry the computer because of the BIOS changes.
