New build coming as soon as Arrow Lake drops and was going to snag a 4090, but forgot that 5000 series coming out next year... so would kind of be a waste. Just not sure what GPU would make sense for the time being.

Original Title: Onve upon a time, devs put our savegames into My Docs/My Games and all seemed to be well. but Windows evolved and added new shit we didn't need, so vomiting them randomly somewhere in Users/Documents became the custom. k. Now AppData too? how tf do I back them up offline in 2024?

OneDrive just sucks and somehow manages to impact performance on top of the line PCs with the best SSD tech available to consumers..cuz it decided to re-sync whatever at some random time.

Personally, Google was the first to have their nose that deep in my shit and their price to upgrade up to 100GB cloud storage was way cheaper than MS's and their gCloud desktop just seems to work better for me...BUT (cue sadfaces)

AppData=no bueno, homey

I mean, it maybe could be done, setting Permissions for each and every folder and file, then pointing the Drive Desktop app at each and every non-system file... I don't have that level of free time or diagnosed behavioral disorders.

Back in those aforemetioned simpler times. I used savegame management progams for that stuff because the Cloud (or even the base concept of relabelling servers as some..sky-based dreamlike storage ..solution? had not occurred to marketers(tbh was clearly just "on someone else's hardware" since Day One so I only use it when forced by Steam or whomever. and it more or less works-until it does not.

RULE OF THREE COMPELS ME

If data is important: ONE copy can be saved in your machine, ONE copy online. ONE offline backup

So?

any y"all got some geniously ingenious workarounds?

I can't be the only one with ADHD here, dommed to perpetually restart cuz Cloud is kinda ass sometimes?

Not taking PC with me to college (at least for now) cause my desk/room are incredibly tiny, and I get easily distracted by gaming. I plan to be back every 3 months or so (end of academic terms), and will power up the PC to use it at those points.

Should I unplug the PC before I leave? Can anything bad happen by leaving the PC off during academic terms? thanks.

TL;DR: not getting promised FPS with Ryzen 5 5600g

The issue I'm having rn is that im not getting the promised FPS with my R5 5600G. I watched several benchmarks on youtube and there's a noticeable difference between their results and mine. For instance on valorant, I'm only seeing less than 120fps on low settings, while the benchmarks show over 200 FPS.

I've tried allocating 4GB of ram to the igpu, but the improvement was minimal. I also have the latest drives/AMD software. Any suggestions on how to resolve this and get closer to the benchmark results? Thanks in advance

here are the specs:

  • Motherboard: Gigabyte B450M DS3H WIFI
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G @ 3.9GHz
  • RAM: 16GB DDR4 @ 3200MHz (8x2, dual channel)

For me it's:

GPU: GTX 750Ti, GTX 1080Ti, RTX 3090

CPU: R5 3600X, R7 3700X, R5 5600X

I'm sure newer hardware like the x3D processors and newer GPUs would likely extend this list further. But this is what I could remember. I've had many other cards also, but these stood out to me the most.

My pc tried to kill itself lol. No lie. While I was asleep it rebooted but somehow missing asus and other programs but Asus controlled my pump and so it wasn't running and didn't error code itself off ass it should I luckily woke and saw the flow meter not running and freaked out. Pump is still alive but I have to reinstall windows again fuckkk and it's doesn't work 9/10 times for some reason. I'm truly baffled at why I'm having problems installing windows. Like I get error code screens when I'm installing. Usually system_thread Any ideas or suggestions on what I can do!

Looking for the best cooling solution for my i9-14900K. Aiming for the absolute best performance under heavy loads without custom water loops. Considering these AIOs:

  1. EKWB EK-Nucleus AIO CR360 Dark
  2. Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360
  3. Lian Li Galahad II Trinity Performance

Any experiences with these on high-end CPUs? Priorities are raw cooling performance, reliability and noise. Open to other suggestions in the same tier.

My Intel 13900KF has fallen victim to the intel instability issues. After being under load for about 2 hours my pc just crashes, and after restarting my pc it will just crash again in like 5-10 minutes. I’m thinking to RMA my cpu, but just wanted to check if there are any other tips out there.
