Love the word Transsexual (noun)! Should be used more! By its' definition it is accurate and speaks the truth to those that are Transsexuals!! Check out the DSM5 to learn the current context of this word. It's not outdated except by those drink the current 'narrative cool aid'. The current SOC8 does not properly pay respect to those that are Transsexual! Why they do not, I can only speculate. Respect transsexuals by using the term correctly when referring to transsexuals! Having gender dysphoria is no joke and can be deadly! To some the term 'transsexual' has some weird 'social' and or 'pornographic' connotation. To label a transsexual individual incorrectly I find insulting.

Transsexual:  An individual who seeks or has undergone, a social transition from male to female or female to male, which in many, but not all cases may also involve a somatic transition by cross-sex hormone treatment and genital surgery (‘sex reassignment surgery’).

Hey. I started HRT about a year ago. I have changed drastically due to HRT. And I have not seen my extended family since. They also have no idea about my transsexuality. And, I know for a fact, that they are homophobic (they once complained about homosexual people being allowed in the goverment). So I assume that they are probably also transphobic. But I want to see them again, and they invited me for this month. How should I deal with that?

Hey. I am a transsexual man and Idk. I am on testosterone for....idk. A year? And I am insecure about my voice. You ever heard of the typical "Homosexual voice"? Before getting HRT I was really scared of getting this. And now I am insecure, cause now I can't tell whether or not I have it. I want like the typical, low manly voice. You know? I never asked anyone whether or not my voice sounds like a typical Homosexual voice, cause, I don't wanna seem homophobic. Any advice? How can I find out if I have this voice? A bit of a vent because there's nowhere to talk about these things. I don't like it. It's not something I want to be, I just am. I accept that I am, I just don't like it. Maybe it's some sort of "internalized transphobia" like some of these "trans" kids have said. I've definitely tried to convert myself out of my need to transition, it doesn't work btw. I don't understand why people would want to be trans? It makes me want to scream and shake people!

Has anyone else been this way? I feel so alone in this all.

Hello, I am trans (ftm), Pretransition. I am attracted to men. Had my first experience of gender dysphoria at 5 years old. I am 26 now. I was hypersexual since 4 years old, had twisted fantasies, used to get engaged in hyperfeminine dress up in secret, used to gratify myself doing masterbation type of things (i had no idea about genitals at that time). Today I was talking to my sister. She said my dysphoria could possibly have stemmed from my shame and guilt regarding the childhood hypersexuality.

I am very dysphoric about my body, about my breasts, my lack of body hair, periods, lack of male genitals, going into the womens loo etc. I have an intense aversion towards my genitals. What my sister said, may very well be a fact. But I am not sure if this is the only thing.

Can anyone help?

I'm nearing the end of my transition after I was diagnosed in 2015, when I just turned 12. I've been knowingly a transsexual for 8 years but have never had an actual community to go to when my transition was stressing me out.

No one wanted SRS, I was the always weird one for wanting it. Even more gatekeepy communities would bash SRS and talk about how you didn't need it to be "valid." Why can't people who absolutely need to have SRS ever have a place for themselves? Why does everyone want to be a transsexual without actually being one? Even if you claim to have bottom dysphoria, you will never go through what I'm about to go through and that makes us different. I should be able to separate myself from people who don't want SRS, regardless of the reason, without being some kind of bigot or gatekeeper.

It seems like every year the definition of both transgender and transsexual get even more watered down. Crossdressers are now transgender, transgenders are now transsexuals, and true transsexuals may as well not even exist.

not meaning this message in a rude way, but if nonbinary people want to exist, then we should also treat them like it in terms of dating

for example, i'm only attracted to women, not men, and now including nonbinary people

i know it may sound silly, but i've caught myself seeing someone who says they're nonbinary, i just immediately find no attraction to them (this goes for men, transwomen, and possibly transmen as well (currently questioning on that one))... the reasons for me not finding a nonbinary person attractive is entirely different though and i know where it's coming from

and this is a little off topic, but i don't agree that it's transphobic to not want to date a transsexual person (or transgender to them i guess). everyone has what they're personally attracted to and we can't help that (literally what the previous LGBT community was preaching previously)

For those who don't know, Rose Montoya is a trans MtF influencer, who was invited to a FAMILY FRIENDLY Pride event at the White House in Washington DC, and met the President of the United States, Joe Biden.

Before I go on, I just want to emphasise that this was a family friendly event, and was marketed as child friendly.

Whilst Rose Montoya was there, she decided (in her infinite wisdom) to remove her shirt, and jiggle her breasts with her fingers over nippes. As she did this, 2 trans men did the same, showing their surgery scars.

The backlash fell mostly on Rose, but all 3 are in the wrong. They are at the White House. The symbol of the Western World. The place where the President leads the free democracies against dictators and tyranny. This behaviour is inappropriate beyond measure, and makes the West look bad. This is nit an opportunity to take your top off, but to present yourself with dignity and respect.

Forget about the President for a second, and remember that there were children at this event. This should go without saying, but undressing in the vicinity of children is massively inappropriate! Right wing influencer already play the groomer card on us. How on earth did you think this would help the transgender communities case?

As expected, the right wing twitter users have taken, and ran with this. It is going to set us back, and spark further hate for this community.

Hello, I am a Nonbinary person who mostly expresses masculine. (They, He)

I truly need help with choosing a name, because i need a name that sounds GERMAN, so that it doesn't stick out like a Needle in a blanket.

Ths would mean i have to leave behind the name i feel most comfortable with, Jay, and go by something more german. But my parents pronounce english stuff shittily and I wouldn't want them to struggle.

So anyone have some more german-sound names similar to jay? I'd have Jay as middle name

i know this was mentioned in another post too, but i wanted to mention it as well. i remember when i was younger before all of this, i felt so connected to that trans community, it was just one, clear definition, not an umbrella term, and everyone agreed you needed dysphoria to trans, we had all these laws in place for therapy to make sure that's what we wanted, everyone believed in just two sexes. the transgender community i do not and cannot relate to at all. i remember seeing it first happen back in 2015, i was on tumblr, and that's the first time i heard someone tell me that you don't need dysphoria to be trans, and that literally blew my mind because of how absurd it sounded, so i spoke out against it saying you DO need dysphoria to be trans, not realizing there was a whole crowd of people against that belief, and at that time i had like 400 followers. i got constant anon hate telling me to kill myself and i was even stalked on my online game just for a whole group of people to tell me to kill myself through the game as well when i was just minding my own business playing it. i became severely depressed and i started questioning everything about what i believed, i felt so alone during that time period because i felt like i was the only one to believe that suddenly, questioning everything i knew about being a transsexual, from how i feel, to all the research i have done over the years. it is SO nice to see others have similar views now and that we seem to be building a proper transsexual community again that i can actually connect with. i'm hoping they start seeing how we're calling ourselves differently from what they are

i was able to move out my parents house recently, but i still live close by. can't hide forever due to transitioning, but i'm pretty sure my dad is gonna disown me whenever he finds out

i don't want to hate on him or do anything to him, i just want to know how to deal or cope with something like that... i've been depressed ever since i moved out just thinking about it. there's a part of me that doesn't want to care because he's the one that would leave, but that's what hurts :/...
