Really enjoying my AVP and the latest environments - especially the Bora Bora beach location!

We as a community should be able to request new environments for the next release.

Top of my list would be a rooftop or balcony in a big city - New York, San Francisco, London, Tokyo, Singapore, Dubai, … like the Stark Tower environment in the Disney+ app - wish that were available in general!

Indoor/outdoor spaces would be great for working: A Japanese dojo opening onto a garden with a mountain in the distance, or a Moroccan balcony overlooking a Souk. Adding sounds and animations would be fantastic.

Excited to see other’s ideas!

Bought a 256gb (I’ll mostly stream) on swappa with light wear and a carrying case for 2100. I honestly didn’t even need to do much research, I watch so much basketball (typically 4 games at a time, every night) that I know for a fact I’ll use it consistently. The extras like productivity with my MBP and reading etc I just see as a bonus. Looking forward to using it and seeing what it has to offer

I just took a 10 hr flight on United (economy plus), and used my AVP for most of the journey.

The experience was excellent. The AVP detected that I was on a flight and offered to put itself in flight mode, and was absolutely rock solid from that point forward.

I used iCloud Drive to bring over some movies that I watched using Cineplex and Theater. I also watched some Apple TV+ content.

It's hard to overstate how much nicer this was than using an iPad. It really took me out of the environment of the plane and I've never felt so good after this flight as I do now. Having my head in an upright position probably helped a lot as well as the more relaxed eye focus.

I used the Belkin travel case, and it worked really nicely when I needed to temporarily put the AVP down to use the bathroom or eat etc., as well as being small enough to fit inside my personal item backpack.

Imagine if Apple had this type of functionality in AppleTV boxes. Just add another hdmi input port and a dedicated connection to the Vision Pro. We'd be able access Netflix, YouTube, and all our other AppleTV apps directly.

I recently got the chance to try out an upcoming wheelchair that can be controlled using the eye/head tracking in the Vision Pro. Please take a look at my short hands on video and share with anyone you think may find it interesting or who could benefit from this amazing technology!

One of my biggest complaints where it comes to the APV since day one has been the lack of control over how big and where I want to place windows (distance) without resorting to “hacks” like placing a window and backing up from it. This lack of customization made the forced perspectives less enjoyable to me as a cinema experience.

Compared to the Skybox app on Oculus, Apple’s user customization was just not as good. Even the cinema environments felt more like going to the movies at a smallish private screening room or low to midsized theater rather than something like an IMAX experience.

I just tried out the Haleakala environment for watching the season finale of Silo and season opener of Severance, and I have to say they finally nailed the perspective. The window floats out further away and still maintains its largeness while filling the viewing space comfortably without having to move my head—just like the prime seat in the middle of an IMAX theater. Yes! Finally! Not only that, but the light reflections off the clouds in the dark environment mode really just added the extra “vibe” touch for me (though that was already there before).

For the cinema environment, it’s still that smallish screening room perspective, but I don’t really care because I’d prefer the floatiness of the Haleakala environment anyway.

Anyway, I can finally tell people it’s like having an IMAX on my face when I watch something, rather than a smallish movie theater!

One of my most frustrating and biggest disappointment about AVP was not being able to use it on work MacBookPro (locked down by Azure).

On a lark I tried it today with the virtual display and it worked!

Now - can we get TEAMS working next??

I feel the fixed placement of the screen is too high when watching a movie in a non-cinema environment. I find myself having to tilt my head up in order to place the screen in the center of my vision field, which becomes uncomfortable after a while. Is there a way to adjust my virtual seating to make the fixed screen appear lower in my vision field? I haven’t found a way to do it in a non-cinema environment yet.

I know I can move the screen around if I don’t enter the fixed screen experience, but the fixed screen seems to appear further away into the background and has beautiful reflection effects that I like.

Seems like they have some new inventory. Reviews are sparse, but generally seems pretty positive (but up to the individual to decide if worth the $$$).

Edit: Seems like M/L is current OOS. S still available as of this update.

With Nvidia adding Geforce Now to the Vision Pro it's about time Valve updated Steam Link for the Vision Pro. It would be nice to have a way to play games from our PCs directly from Steam. The current iPadOS version is rather meh. As much as I've liked and appreciated Moonlight the past year, I'd much prefer to rely on a native VisionOS app made directly by Valve. Especially if they added a wicked curved screen option.
