Following in the footsteps of:

So yeah, I recently ate a perma ban after being mass reported by bots. Guess undercutting them really got on their nerves? Or maybe it was killing them as i passed through BRM. Either way, I'm 100% sure this ban is incorrect. Yes, i understand the only people that will believe me are likely those that have known me, but I have never used any form of cheats in this game, EVER. I've appealed and appealed, and the best i've gotten was . Even with it reduced to a 6 month, why should i be banned for 6 months when i haven't done anything wrong?!

My account is old enough that it has an actual USERNAME, rather than being just wow#1. I have been struggling for DAYS trying to get a REAL HUMAN to view my ticket, as I'm 100% sure this ban is from their automated system being exactly that, 100% automated without any real humans looking things over. If a REAL HUMAN were to look into this, they'd see I have been wrongly banned. The fact that zero humans have looked at this, and all I'm getting are automated responses, and I'm stuck eating a wrongful ban is ridiculous.

For context: I was running through bad lands on my hunter looking for broken tooth, then got a disconnected and a email message claiming that my near 20 year old account was hacking/cheating. I have never used any sort of 3rd party program with wow. The only things I have used are addons from curseforge, and the warcraft logs uploader. Both of these afaik are completely within TOS. The only option left beyond those 2 would be maybe my vpn (nordvpn) creating a false positive maybe?

In case an actual human at blizzard sees this: Ticket Number: US103043994

Here are my list of addons used:

I've been trying to get an actual human to look into this, but instead get an auto reply bot threatening me.

This is ridiculous, I'm at my wits end, and I just want a real human to look into this at this point.

Every time I’ve played a few rounds of Plunderstorm, I go back to the regular side and my character order is just completely out of whack. Even the campsite ends up randomised.

Has anyone else experienced this? It’s very frustrating to put things back in order.

Some of you may remember this post from 2023 which quoted a claim that the Celestial Steed WoW mount available from the Blizzard store in 2010 made more money than the entirety of SC2: Wings Of Liberty. The claim was made by a former Blizzard employee, Jason "Thor" Hall AKA Pirate Software. This person's claim went viral and was widely covered by gaming press. The YT short (Entitled: "Microtransactions") has near 10 million views.

The claim is entirely unsubstantiated.

When he was asked to explain over on SC2 reddit in 2023 in a reply, which unfortunately seems to have gone entirely unnoticed by those reposting and publishing articles on it, Jason from his own reddit account Thorwich only had this nonsensical explanation when asked to back up his claim. The comment speaks for itself but it confirms that he has essentially he made it up based on guesswork, he has no actual numbers.

In his explanation, he cites crowd sourced data from a fansite on player mount ownership, a literal joke between colleagues at the time and the Starcraft 2: WoL sales figures. He then pours pure, outright speculation as to the costs of developing/marketing/maintaining SC2 on top to come up with his conclusion. It seems he held no insight on the financial performance of either product apart from rumour and publicly available information yet this story went viral and was not fact checked on the basis he was a former employee. Even if you accepted his own fudged up numbers, they do not account for the some $100m - $200m differential in SC2 sales vs the Celestial steed that he himself gives.

I discovered this ridiculous claim when I came across him due to the recent drama involving him in WoW HC. I am covering this following an off-hand comment I made over on LSF as I did not realise people were unaware this was an out and out fabrication with no actual source as at the time this explanation from him appears to have been buried or flew under the radar.

TL:DR: This story was complete nonsense and when questioned on Reddit the guy cited random crowd sourced statistics from a WoW fansite on who had bought the mount, applied that unreliable data to the WoW playerbase as a whole to give him Figure A (lower number) for the mount sales, compared it to SC2 sales figures to give him Figure B (higher number) then filled in the blanks with variables such as SC2 development/marketing/maintenance costs (of which he has no data nor insight except to say they exist) to create a fiction that Figure A was higher then Figure B.

EDIT: For those of you pointing out it was revenue not sales. Yes i mistitled and also typo'd misled, okay. But just on the subject of revenue, here's the following figures to digest based on things we actually know:

  1. We know SC2 sold at minimum 4.5million copies in 2010 alone per blizz's report which would total approx. $269m revenue based on retailing at $59.99. Hell, lets even say some of the sales were discounted and round down to $250m for your 4.5m copies sold,
  2. The oft-cited claim by WSJ (and likely where Pirate got his dev costs figure) that it was a $100m game was debunked in 2010 and a correction issued on this article which made the same claim as pirate re. costs and puts them more in the 8 figure region (subscription required, if no sub refer to the PC gamer article confirming the same.) but, okay, lets accept this figure for arguments sake.
  3. Blizzard has never released the revenue of the Steed specifically that I can tell, and no such figures exist for the 2010-2013 period. But okay, sure, lets accept Pirate's $84m best case scenario from his calculations aswell.

So here's the maths:

Deducting $100m assumed costs, from $250m in sales (minimum), it's $150m SC2 revenue vs the $84m revenue of the mount. It's not close or remotely equal, and thats the best case, perfect world scenario for Pirate's claim which he has provided zero evidence to support, outside of "ex-blizzard employee btw". That's leaving aside the fact I am lowballing SC2 revenue majorly as the general consensus is that it's closer to 6m copies for SC2 WoL prior to HoTS coming out.

Is it definitely a bit of an industry indictment that a horse could make half the money a full AAA game does, sure. Is it what he claimed? No.

I’ve been playing since 2009 and have always been really into collecting cool mounts, so I’ve gotten a lot of the cool ones pre-BFA already. For me as of late I’ve been running a few things every week on a few different toons: Mythic Karazhan, Last bosses of Hellfire Citadel and then skip straight to Blackhand from there.

Then I try to run Dragon Soul since the fix for the fight for soloing, which has made it laughably easy compared to the stressful mess it once was to solo.

Still need Experiment 12B and the Blazing drake. Luckily got the heroic only mount a few weeks ago but that was it as of late.

ETA: I totally forgot about the Nighthold (last fight) and the Abyss Worm from ToS. Mythic Underrot can also have a drop too, but I don’t run it too often.

Not to mention the cataclysm dungeon drakes. Still missing the one from Stonecore and the one from Vortex Pinnacle. Also the Love Rocket, here’s hoping more of us all can get it to finally drop after all these years lol. Also something else I’m forgetting right now, but there is another one.

Also forgot to add Battle for Dazar’alor. I really want both G.M.O.D and the Glacial Tidestom so I try to run that whole instance every week or two.

As a solo player I feel like this has been the best xpac in a long time. I work a lot and have a family to take care of so being in a guild that raids or does M+ is not an option for me because of the limited amount of time I have to play. I can’t stick to a raid night schedule because my schedule changes all the time. That being said, as a solo player I have Heroic level gear and make enough gold to get by. 5-6 hours a week average. All solo content. Random dungeons, Delves, and the weekly quests and some pvp. It is much easier to get gear now as a solo player and it is repetitive but it doesn’t seem like a chore. Is it just me or did blizzard get something right this time?

Hello everyone, my name is Victor. I don't usually share personal things, but today I want to tell you about a man who changed my life, my best friend. Yesterday he passed away. Six months ago, doctors diagnosed him with the last stage of pancreatic cancer. It was a terrible blow to everyone who knew him. He was a wonderful man - a kind, compassionate friend, a wonderful son, a faithful husband and a loving father. His heart was always open to people, and he never left his loved ones in trouble. For almost 20 years, his companion in life was the game World of Warcraft. We started together, long ago, when everything was simpler. He chose the path of a paladin, and I chose the path of a warrior. We spent unforgettable evenings in the game, creating our own world where friendship and courage always won. But time made its own adjustments - I stopped playing, but he stayed. Over the following years, he found his place as a Fury Warrior for the Alliance on the Silvermoon server. Even in the most difficult days of his struggle with the disease, Warcraft was a place for him where he could forget about pain and suffering, immerse himself in memories of better times, and find solace and strength. His character was a part of his soul, a symbol that even when reality is unforgiving, there is always a place to become a hero. Now he is gone, and this pain is hard to describe in words. In his memory, I decided to return to the game and create a new character - Fury the Warrior again, on Silvermoon. But I realize that even this will not bring him back. I'm writing this to honor his memory. He was more than just a friend to me - he was a brother who I could always be proud of. So, if you can, please raise your shields for the Alliance, for him, for all the moments of joy we shared in this world. I may have written it wrong or in the wrong place, but it was very important for me to share this story. I hope you will understand me.

Best regards to all, Kabuya, Fury Warrior of the Alliance.

WoW is massive and chasing everything is impossible for someone like me, so i'd like to chase some actual quality of life items. I am thinking things like:

  • Water mount.
  • Pet or toy that gives me portable vendor to empty my bags.
  • walking speed boost that isn't limited to few seconds.

For those working on the BFA Meta for Jani mount, the world quest is available in Nazmir for Horde. up for 23 hours as of the time of this post.

US should get it in ~12 hours

Failed it on my first character because the mobs around the orbs are buggy and dont die in one hit so ignore them and focus on the road & the big mother mobs.
