Just had a brief but ridiculous encounter with another player in a random timewalking dungeon... after a boss, a teammate hunter went afk for like 15-20 seconds and made us ""wait"" on our way to the last boss (I wouldn't consider that afk or having to wait personally, but that's the best way to describe it), tank wrote "are you gonna play hunter?" then a vote kick starts with the reason: "dipshit", I obviously declined, but the hunter got kicked, I wrote "dude was away for 20 seconds and you agreed to kick? damn", tank replies "away? that motherf_er was sitting around doing nothing" and "he was pulling adds with his pet for no reason", neither of those things was true, I was in my druid healing, same class I use for all 3 roles, being a tank or healer you get used to checking the group portraits at all times to know who has aggro or their health so you can prioritize healing or taking the enemies away, plus his dps wasn't even bad, the hunter did nothing wrong until the moment he decided to make us "wait" 20 seconds.

Nothing else was written in the instance chat, but moving to the last boss, tank pulls all the enemies in the room for no reason, attacks the boss and leaves the group.

So, he started a vote to kick over nothing, got the other player kicked, its rude in chat for no reason, does the things he accused the other player of, he tries to ruin the dungeon for everyone else, and the only thing achieved with this vote kick system was disrupting the experience of a hunter who was participating in the dungeon.

This encounter made me think of all the times something similar has happened, the very, very few times I see vote kick doing something useful is when a player gets dc, the rest is: vote-kick, reason: random insult or empty, and for some reason many times other players agree to kick with little to no information or worse, they click agree over nothing. With timewalking dungeons is ridiculous how much this scenario repeats, new players (low lvls) who commit the crime of pulling 1 add or not knowing the entirety of a dungeon on his/her first time there getting insulted in the chat, kicked, but the ones insulting that player started a vote so the only one getting his experience affected is that new player who did nothing wrong and now has to wait half an hour to play another dungeon. There are also the ridiculous situations where someone would rather kick the tank or healer after a wipe instead of explaining that player how we can do it properly, this happened soooo many times in Cataclysm timewalking last week, its just crazy.

Please, don't agree to kick for no reason, and if you want to start a vote-kick put something useful in there, writing an insult will only make me wonder who started it so we can vote you out instead.

TLDR: I will be doing Loremaster but will start with Warcraft 1 to 3, then Classic full quest completion, then retail expansions in chronological order.

You guys may have seen my other reddit post talking about my loremaster journey in Retail on my Alliance Night Elf. I went through every expansion completing every Main Story and Side Quest I could before moving to the next expansion. I finished that and am now in TWW. It took over 400 hours to do. It's one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had.

I had plans to do a Horde playthrough next, doing the same thing, but only with ground mounts and no flying at all. This WILL be happening. However, I am making the journey longer. I am going to go through Warcraft in chronological order. I am going to be going through Warcraft 1 to 3, then going to do a Classic Classic playthrough after and complete all quests, then I will be moving to retail to start BC and all the expansions in chronological order.

What do you guys think? I think I will start this journey soon. Any other challenges or handicaps that you think that I should add to this challenge to spice it up? I think I will be taking notes as well and become a true loremaster.

I will be streaming all of this on my twitch channel and the name of that channel is xKaedos :D

Posting that other reddit post... I didn't expect it to blow up with so much love. It's great to see so many that are passionate about slowing down in the game and caring about the lore and world. I am also thinking of creating a guide for other players who may want to pursue loremaster in chronological order in it's entirety, even if just in retail.

Looking forward to this long, but I am sure rewarding, journey! Also would love to hear your guys' thoughts! Happy Holidays and Happy New Years!

Started my journey in the evening of Thursday the 22nd Dec 2005 with my Tauren Warrior. I only wanted to "play for an hour", as I had school the next day.

Spend half the night playing and boy, did I suck at that game..

I never played a game like this before, I was overwhelmed and yet, it was so much fun. Still thinking back to the Christmas tree in Orgrimmar and opening the presents. We were so clueless back then, there weren't really any guides nor understanding of how things worked or min-maxing.

I only got to see mc and bwl before TBC came out, but I spend a lot of time on warcraftmovies watching aq and naxx raids. It was kind of sad there was so little time and only a fraction of players were able to clear all of it back then. Glad they gave me the chance to settle the outstanding score with wow classic tho.

Good old times.. cannot believe it's been almost 20 years 🥲

Original Title: New phone, old pictures: Anyone have screenshots of their first characters in WoW? This was Xindria, NE Rogue, first WoW character for me back in 30 Sep 2007. Shortly after this, I discovered hunters. I miss Auberdine. Look at the UI!!

I've been playing WoW since 2005, so...long time.

My cat died earlier this year. She was 18. The best playing partner. She would snuggle up on my right side and sometimes I swear she would watch me play. Losing her was tough to say the least. I miss her every day.

Yesterday morning (Christmas Day), I was running around trying to find all of Maru's stupid ass toys and wound up in Boralus at the crazy cat lady's house. While I'm looking for the right one, I see it. Sitting in a box, was Stormy. I gasped, and my husband (who is not a gamer and cannot understand my almost 20 year commitment to this game) was like, what? I swung my lappy around and zoomed in on the cat and positively SQUEALED, "Look! It's stormy! And I can PET HER!!!" And he watched as I pet her and the little hearts lit up the screen.

He said, "Aw, it's a Christmas miracle, you get to pet stormy on Christmas!" And I laughed, and then I cried a couple tears because do I ever miss that cat.

Thanks, WoW. Thank you for making my life a little more fun for the last 20 years, and thank you for putting a Stormy in the crazy cat lady's house. Imma get on and go pet her again. ❤️

As the title states I am super new to WoW, but I have heard so much over the years (33F) that this is the game to play. I expressed my interest and my husband gifted it to me! Are there any tips for newcomers like myself? I can imagine this question has been asked a billion times but anything is appreciated!

Thanks!

Seems a bit weird that Dungeon deserter debuff also applies to follower dungeons.

If you get kicked or have to leave a dungeon, you really can't even torment the NPC's.

Seems like something they could/should change. Don't see any reason why getting kicked from a dungeon should prevent you from solo play.
