this is more of a news report but these encrypted sites are starting to see users flood in as they get banned on other sites such as this controversial group https://matrix.to/#/#AWCY_lobby_space:matrix.org

whether you are for guns or not. these groups are noticing that platforms don't offer free speech unless they are encrypted
