Knowing how this is usually done, the rat study probably didn't establish the minimum that caused cancer, but simply a single data point where it does cause cancer... So it might be 60 cans daily or it might be 12, but who's going to raise a hundred rats and feed them aspartame in 2-can-equivalent increments? That's not exactly Nature-quality work.
