I don't think you can get an easier hot meal than hot dogs. Yep I've scraped the bottom of the barrel with lips, hips and arseholes for dinner tonight.

Top them with some saurekraut, pickle relish, and canned corn.

Now that's a dang hot dog right there.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Interesting. I don't have any sauerkraut on hand will kimchi do?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Never tried it. Might be too many competing flavours. I find sauerkraut to be fairly neutralish. Kimchi might overpower everything else.

Then again might be something amazing that no one has ever thought of.

Yeah I'm not too worried about insulting the hot dog's feelings. That's why I put a shitload of hot mustard on the thing.

Nothing insults my insides like a hot dog can. Nothing.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Cocktail franks fresh from the can?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Oh can't say I've stooped that low before.

I've had then from a jar and I can't say that cold weiners impressed me.

this is an abomination.

Gool 'ol Grade-F meat.

There's very little meat in these gym mats...

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 years ago

Hahaha. Yeah meat isn't a word I'd use.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 years ago

It's mostly circus animals anyway.

Wash it down with some Malk (full of Vitamin R of course) and you've got a meal fit for kids!!!

I wonder if there's some interesting combination to make it tasty or something. Like adding onions and mushrooms and garlic sauce or some combo you don't normally use with hotdogs.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Chilli (the bean/meat mix) and cheese on a hot dog are heavenly

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago

That’s a good reminder for me to make chilli this weekend.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Sounds like a nice combo there. Would try if my body could tolerate spicy stuff!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago

You don't need much heat for a good chili. Cumin and smoky paprika can do the job. Plenty of garlic and onion and you still get most of the flavours. Most American type chilis aren't actually that spicy.

I just do sauce, cheese and hot mustard. Nothing complicated. If you put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I normally do sauce as well and sometimes with onions.

I was thinking this time maybe lettuce or greens with it and tomato or aioli.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Woah. You're getting into gourmet territory there.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Yeah, you're right, I went too far with the lettuce!

I beg your pardon, hot dogs are God-tier foods and with the right toppings can be transcendent.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Do you know what hot dogs means to me? Regret later on but it makes the other 3 happy so I just suck it up.

TIL someone has invented a salmon hot dog. Why?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 years ago

I'll do it but I'm scared to look.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I recently had the best hot dog I've ever had. At the Wandilagong Nut Festival of all places.
