West Australians believe the state’s capital will need to rapidly decarbonise and diversify its mining-dependent economy, halt urban sprawl and support more apartments if it is to accommodate 3.5 million people by 2050, according to a new report by a Perth think-tank.

59 per cent believed there would be supersonic flight.

Concorde Australia??

The world already has the technical capability for supersonic flight. Its the industry that says 'na-uh, can't have that.'

Also, what fuel do these people think these supersonic planes will be using if their top priority is decarbonisation?

Where is this electric prop-plane thats going to break the sound barrier and be commercially viable? All within 25 years!

I'm gona have to read this report aren't I? Dammit.

And what on earth is an 'Accredited Futurist'? Is it a scifi writer with a games workshop lanyard?
