What genre would this be? retro wave? It's like the over-the-top 80s pop I grew up on!
It's got a bunch of labels and subgenres, like every genre does, but the overarching term is "synthwave".
If you're digging this sound then I would obviously start with more Gunship. I would suggest the album Dark All Day, but I don't know Gunship super well, so someone else might have a better recommendation.
Next up, The Midnight. Listen to the album Kids, in its entirety, from start to finish (no shuffle). If that works for you, hit up Horror Show and then Heroes.
Whenever you want to move on from The Midnight, you'll want to listen to Atlas by FM-84 (this album is perfect for a long drive). They've also released a few singles that aren't on any album; Never Stop and Bend & Break are both really worth a listen.
