Big ups to the Animaniacs for stepping up to recognize 🇹🇼 and 🇵🇸 before much of the rest of the world!
I don't think it was some intentional political thing tbh. Remember, the original version mentions a lot of places that aren't actually countries (such as Greenland and Transylvania) as well. Though it's unclear whether the writers included those to make it flow better, or they just didn't really know.
