@Mikina you definitely should check it out again, the Thargoid war is over now (no spoilers) and a new era is beginning :)
I guess you're talking about VoiceAttack, which sadly I cannot use playing on Linux, but everyone says it's a great 3rd party tool
I've switched to linux last year, which kind of made me loose my whole stack of EliteAttack with voicepacks and EDDiscovery and all other cool 3rd party tools that made the game way better, not even talking about not being able to play in VR. I guess I'd have to dualboot for that, when I was in Elite mood I gave up when I realized I won't get VR working, didn't even get to the other tools.
But thanks, I'll check it out.
@[email protected] I don't know if this might be of any help to you but I had no issues with VR using ALVR and an Oculus 2.
Check this thread I commented some time ago for some guidance: https://lemmy.world/post/15989376
As for the other tools, I'm still tinkering to see if I'll be able to use them or at least find an alternative :)
I tried ALVR and was having issues with it not connecting, or connection crashing, even though I never had any issue playing through regular Air Link on the same network setup. But that was almost a year ago, I'll give it a try again.
