FWIW He has discussed before how he personally abused WFH before retiring. Also that the efficiency stuff is immaterial compared to having the workforce suffer in the office trenches as he did.

That is fine, I can still question their stance until it comes down to just admitting there is a bad reason, or, at least, and very poorly reasoned one.
