There are a few situations where it's warranted I feel, here in Notts if you look at the Victorian terraces in places like Snienton, the space between buildings simply isn't wide enough for a 2 lane road and cars for all of the houses, there are no driveways as there are no front gardens just steps down. There's also not really anywhere else in the area where people could leave their cars, so people park half on the pavement and half on the road each side, leaving just enough room for a single car to drive down the road.

There's enough busses go through the area, but it doesn't seem to help.

Otherwise I'm all for it.
