I don't understand this mentality. Who does this actually protect?
It protects them from losing revenue because someone might change the channel if an episode reminds them about a tragedy they were trying not to think about. It's not like they're banning the episodes, they're just changing their schedule for the next few weeks.
No one on Lemmy watches broadcast TV anyway so why care?
The unpaid that’s staffs the companies complaint hotline.
You see, some people are just horrified to learn that media made years, even decades ago, could have made a joke that resembles a future event that they couldn't have foreseen.
So obviously rather than ignore it, they have to make a big deal out of it and we have to pretend it never happened.
This saves us from any horrible critical thinking or understanding.
