first of all I don't hold any hope that the American people will finally understand anything. They re-elected Bush, they re-elected Trump. Any hope you have is based on nothing but wish thinking and self delusion.

Secondly as in all things this means don't put all your eggs in one basket. We can't rely on the USA to be dependable ally, or a trade partner or even a friend. Trade with lots of countries, make allies with everybody you can. Play the field.
