Rational Fiction

A community for discussing works of fiction where the characters think and act rationally (i.e. for good reasons) according to their understanding of their situation, rather than their actions feeling forced by the author to forward the plot. Inspired by r/rational and r/hpmor.

Rules:

  1. Be polite and respectful to everyone, including people who disagree with you. Attacking an idea is fair game though.
  2. No spoilers in titles! Use the spoiler tags in posts and comments to discuss sensitive topics.
  3. Have fun!

@[email protected] -- if you're still interested in getting conversations going here, might I suggest asking a couple questions in your posts (in addition to the link+summary)? Just something to help prompt discussion. I tried to go back and add comments chapter by chapter with thoughts on them, but struggled to find things to say that weren't just me nitpicking the writing... I'll never catch up at my current pace, and I don't think that'd be much fun to read either, honestly.

I wasn't on the subreddits that inspired this place, so I don't know what people discussed there, but I see you posting these every week and don't want to leave you hanging!
