That's still on lemmy.world, and it's not resolved to whatever is somone's instance, e.g. mine is lemm.ee. Some apps can handle this automatically, like voyager, but the default webui won't redirect to your instence.

Nice! Never heard of lemmyverse. Now I kinda want a firefox extension for that!

Lol, on Voyager the lemmyverse links are not working

Nor on Eternity.

Thunder opens it in the browser.

Yeah, we should open an issue for this.

On Android app settings you can enable voyager to open links from your instance in the app, after you set this up it works.

I use Voyager and it took me out of the app, opened a browser, and read a wall of text and then waited 5 seconds for redirecting… there has to be a better way just to share a link…

It seems that (most?) apps have this feature integrated, where clicking on the direct link takes you there while still being interactive from your instance, but on desktop there's no automatic redirect. Currently using the exclamation point format works for linking to comms on different instances (eg [email protected] ), but there's no way to directly link a thread like that without using a 3rd party redirect like the lemmyverse.link site posted above.

Is there a lemmy app for android that doesn't open Lemmy urls in a browser, and just opens the link in the app?

Voyager

Instance redirection link is what gets opened in browser. Other one is fine

This worked, thanks.
