That's Gabe Newell, ceo of steam, the largest e-gaming (electronic-gaming) retailer, and the people bringing gaming to open source OSes. Probably one of the few CEOs that doesn't have to worry about getting Luigi'd.

Only a couple hundred employees and they're almost all paid over 100k from what I recall.

There are a lot of reasons to like gabe, from revolutionizing platform distribution and not being a greedy asshole, to treating his employees well and using their time to do altruistic things.

Our lord and savior Gaben

He's still a billionaire. That wealth could be spread out a lot thinner than it is.

He got really rich out of his one business. He wasn't a billionaire 20 years ago and he could have if he decided to become a mogul. He isn't there making his money injecting ads between clicks and milking it either. He made it by mostly pushing technology that benefited the world more than himself

While I agree there should be no billionaires (no single person needs that much), there are much worse people than gaben. I'm sure he'd be the first to give it up if that was the law.

Dude owns billions of dollars worth of yachts. Fuck 'im.

I mean sure, there is no ethical billionaire, but I find it hard to believe that anyone replacing him when he dies would be better.

Someone with a similar vision and not billions of dollars tied up in yachts would be better.
