This is a place to motivate each other to control or stop drinking. It is also a place for non drinkers to discuss and share.

my first month or so I wanted to murder people for breathing too loudly at work 😁 To be fair, I still do, but not as much.
It probably is a combination of brain chemistry and an abruptly broken habit, you brain is going "I normally have to deal with a load of alcohol in this situation, better get the brain chemicals lined up, oh wait, what am I supposed to do with all this stuff now?"
The good thing is your brain learns quite quickly to stop releasing the counteractive hormones, so this will pass, I promise.
And you should feel proud, even while you're not feeling great - you're doing brilliantly.

Thank you for your reassurance. I feel like no one around understands. It's like I woke up like Neo in the Matrix and everyone else still talks about alcohol and when I think about it, it's crazy that people openly talk about their drug addiction.
Yes, once you see it, it's everywhere, and everyone thinks it's normal to advertise and openly consume a dangerous, addictive substance.
