I imagine the taboo is for American politicians, in general, to talk to Nazis.

But that's no longer a taboo for the GOP.

Right wingers think that calling right wingers Nazis is a meme/joke that no one takes seriously except indoctrinated zombies. Same with the Russian collusion thing. Republicans see themselves as heroes and probably AfD the same, although most US Republicans probably don't even know what AfD is.
