Resist: It's Time

We are still in this together, but "this" is going to be real different in the very near future. This demands a different kind of "we."

The French Resistance during Nazi occupation played important roles delivering downed Allied airmen back to safety, supplying military intelligence, and acts of sabotage.

The Underground Railroad is estimated to have brought 100,000 freedom seekers to safety between 1810 and 1850.

It's time.

Monetary Protests (lemmy.blahaj.zone)
submitted 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

I was sent this by a friend who saw it trending around various social media which I don't use.

Personally, I think it would do good to lengthen the economic blackouts to 3-7 days. But, any coordination helps, and I think the weeklong corporate boycotts will at least send a message.

I'm looking for other places to share this. I checked BuildTheResistance, but I couldn't figure out a way to submit dates for a protest without a link to a site. I have a link for the February 28th blackout, and I would be grateful to anyone that could help me in sourcing these other protests.

EDIT: found the sources! They're all by The People's Union USA. It's just that all the boycotts besides the 28th are tucked away in their FAQs page.

I should say, as well: I think general boycotts are a good idea, and I support the idea of protesting on these dates. However, I don't necessarily trust The People's Union USA. They have a login feature. Don't be so foolish as to make an account on a fucking resistance website.

Well, Antifa also doesn't constantly say "we're doing illegal things guys, you need to do illegal things too!" Your praxis isn't exactly hiding your intentions. And you're not motivating anyone, you're shitting on any effort anyone makes that you see as less effective than your own.

Maybe I'm just venting at the perceived inaction of like-minded people

That's fair, I'd vent too if I thought everyone around me was doing nothing. But they are doing something, and that should be encouraged.

No matter if you think your actions are more justified, and they're not doing enough. What they're doing is contributing to the same cause. Don't make enemies out of your allies.

Not more justified, just more effective.
