You can build a simple bed presence sensor using one of those pressure mats used to hook up to alarms in nursing homes and a water/leak detector (I use the aqara detector for this). You just have to strip off the end of the cable from the mat, find the wires that do the circuit inside of the mat (I just used the leak sensor to find them) and wire it up to the sensor. Boom, bed presence sensor! Of course, this doesn't track your sleep directly.
There are better gadgets to track your sleep. If you want to just track how you're sleeping, get a cheap fitbit. Withings or Apple Watch are also able to detect sleep apnea
You need a bed presence sensor? I mean, I guess you'd want to be notified if suddenly your bed was not present, but I can't imagine that it happens that often.
Probably useful for these kinda people
I bought a few of the pressure pads used for heated seats in cars and then hooked it up to a zigbee door window sensor. I just soldered the sensor ends to the reed switch. I use them for smart fatigue mats so my work bench powers up when I step on the mat and then 20min of non stepping has it power off the bench. Keeps me from forgetting to turn off my bench PSU and solder iron.
