if you need a silver lining: this bill only has one sponsor and is not likely to be cosponsored such that it can leave committee, let alone survive a vote and be passed.

Even in that worst case scenario, it would be immediately challenged by the courts, from the article:

H.B. 3399, if enacted, would likely face immediate lawsuits on the grounds of violating the Fourteenth Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause. The bill’s sweeping language could also trigger conflicts with federal anti-discrimination protections in healthcare.
