With all that's going on in the reddit world, I'm thinking of leaving it behind, this may be a better place

I hope someday Lemmy can replace reddit for the super-specific stuff I occasionally search for.

Like you can't just Google "best men's belts." That just gets you ads masquerading as blogs, listicles, and other SEO crap. You have to search for "best men's belts reddit" and then read through 10 threads, collate the results in your brain, and only then make a decision. Classic forums are dead so this seems to be the only way to find actual discussion about things, with real people's experiences.

Example 2: Googling something like "Mandalorian s2 ep4 reddit". Yeah that aired years ago, but I like reading people's reactions and thoughts, and about the little Easter eggs I missed. And yes I do this for every episode of every show I watch, don't judge me.
