Why does the mod claim [email protected] is managed by a for-profit company?
The mods also complained about be posting about those posts here:
Those mods seems to be power tripping and want to only promote their website (https://www.goeuropean.org/), which they seem a bit adamant on promoting (https://old.reddit.com/r/BuyFromEU/comments/1j85af8/a_comprehensive_guide_how_to_rbuyfromeu/), ignoring other alternatives like https://buy-european.net/
See some issue between them and the /r/Buy_European mod: https://old.reddit.com/r/Buy_European/comments/1j6jeg3/the_other_buyeuropean_sub_is_apparently_now/
The [email protected] community only has @[email protected] as a mod, but they are literally the last mod in the power order, they havent' created the community or anything.
There have been several occurrences of /r/BuyFromEU mods removing posts promoting Lemmy as they become too popular, such as this one: https://lemm.ee/post/57883093
Their sidebar still only shows links to their own social media:
Their website only points to Reddit: https://www.goeuropean.org/
https://buy-european.net/ points to Lemmy in the footer, and even created a dedicated blog post:
https://buy-european.net/post/lemmy-a-decentralized-community-for-the-buy-european-movement
Edit: for full transparency, I'm also investigating https://buy-european.net/pr/pr-01.pdf
investigating the press release? :D what do you mean? questions? Edit: Oh, I guess that was prior to the discussion yesterday, right? So I guess that's "investigated". Hadn't checked Feddit in a while.
So to summarize its basically 1 website vs the other? We should unite, not divide
Yes, indeed. There's a similar situation here with [email protected] and [email protected], so it's just common around this type of initiatives
On top of that, they also present feature https://european-alternatives.eu/ on their pinned post:

I was wondering the same thing
