God, I've never been happier than when i was unemployed. Far too many freaks have gaslit themselves into thinking unnecessary, soul killing serfdom is a good thing.

While I agree with you, there is definitely a large set of the population who spiral without a consistent schedule. And for some it gives them a responsibility they have to attend to rather than drinking/drugs/wasting away. To each their own, but it does help some folks.

If only everyone in the world had their basic needs met. That way, the people that want to just stay at home and do their hobbies can do so and the people that want a consistent schedule can have that as well. I dream of that world honestly.

For me, I hate how socially isolating unemployment is. After being laid off I noticed that friends and family slowly started treating me differently. Most Americans seem to look down on people who are struggling. Which makes sense, if capitalism rewards merit then people who are struggling must be losers who deserve it... Elon Musk has no idea how much suffering and pain he has caused countless people.
