Evernote is atrocious now. They capitalism'd that into the grave for me. I was a really light user and they want way too much $ for a basic subscription.
I migrated to Joplin as soon as the cheapest Evernote subscription wouldn't let me sync three devices.
Gotta pay those executive bonuses I guess.
Even looking at Joplin the cheapest plan is 28.69€ for a bunch of services I don't need. I just use text notes and need a tagging/directory system to search/store them. I feel that's too expensive for my use. 10€ annually is what I'm looking for.
I've been trying to get notesnook going but it's clunky for my needs.
You don't need to pay them, you can self host or use Dropbox or something.
