The linked article has this:

That 39% figure claimed by the U.S. is widely disputed with the World Trade Organization saying the EUโ€™s average tariff rate was 4.9% in 2024.

...

โ€œNevertheless, considering the actual trade in goods between the EU and U.S., in practice the average tariff rate on both sides is approximately 1%. In 2023, the U.S. collected approximately 7 billion euros [$6.35 billion] of tariffs on EU exports, and the EU collected approximately 3 billion euros on U.S. exports,โ€ the Commission said.

That's weird, because I read the entire article, and I don't see that anywhere?
A search on the page for some of the key words, doesn't turn up anything either?
I even looked at the article linked in the article, still nothing...???
So what article exactly are you referring to?

That's an excellent question. Pretty sure the page I copied that quote from looks a lot like the linked page. I don't have other pages about this topic in my browsing history. Either CNCB edited the page, or my browser forgot a page.

Thanks anyway, it was exactly the information I was looking for, but it would have been nice with a source.
But the info fits my expectations pretty well.
