People - Americans - many of them innocent, are being kidnapped off the street and sent, without due process, to a black hole in El Salvador that the government claimed in court it is impossible to retrieve them from.
The scope of these kidnappings expands every day. They will come for you or your loved ones. We know this from every piece of history.
The father from Maryland “erroneously” sent to El Salvador is a nameable rallying point.
It is easily the most horrific and tangible aspect of the administration right now. And, these protests of ours notoriously lack a focused message or flash point.
And, personally, I feel like any more time spent at rallies where the speakers gloss over this and instead use the opportunity to speak to thousands of gathered centrists and liberals to politely recite poetry and ask “Are there any 90s kids in the audience? 🤪,” before we all break for brunch, is, well - I’m not sure how much more I can take. And I know I’m not alone.
We need to take this seriously. We need to use these events to wake each other up and agitate, not pat each other on the back.
And I firmly believe the best possible opportunity to do this is to focus on the horrific actions of ICE.

I have no say in the organizing, but wish they would rally around this message. I have no idea why the administration hasn't been pressured to explain the need for no due process deportations.
I also worry that they are stalling and fighting on Kilmar because he already died and they can't bring him back.
That makes more sense than the cruelty required to know he didn't deserve it but is stuck there anyways while doing jack shit to have him returned.
My soul can't accept that they are actually that evil, that just doesnt make sense to me and I hope it never does.
