Judas wasn't a traitor. He was the only one that fully understood what the goal was and what had to be done to make it happen.
On the other hand there is his POV in Jesus Christ Superstar where again Judas isn't a traitor, he's Jesus' most trusted person, but he sees the route being taken and he's concerned that Jesus might be setting himself up for a huge failure if he doesn't deliver.
