A community dedicated to the universe of Warhammer 40k, a tabletop setting in the far, distant future.
This is a general community for 40k miniatures, art, lore discussion, and gameplay discussion.
Rules
- Keep it civil.
- No memeposts/shitposts. Memes are great but direct them to grimdank.
- Please mark any posts containing realistic nudity or realistic excessive gore/violence as NSFW; this rule mainly applies to cosplay and realistic drawings rather than miniatures. Being that 40k is inherently violent, this is a judgement call, and mods may occasionally request posters add tags.
- No contemporary politics, no political debates. This is a space to enjoy the hobby and get away from the doomscrolling.

Ok jokey stuff aside, get into a wet pallet. Try it out on an old sprue or bitz. A wet pallet will help blend the colors to avoid hard linear boundaries of color. Looks good and enjoy it.
Sadly I did use a wet pallet. The blend from dark red to red came out fine but I think the direction to the light red needed a lot more work and just came out splotchy. From far away it’s a nice effect but yeah like you point out that light has a hard line that I should have worked on more.
I’ll practice it more. I got a few other projects I have planned to do that.
Np. Still looks like a great table top game quality. And what matters most is enjoying the game and hobby. Also with a full table, Small details fade away.
