Yes, very good, it applies to those as well. The continent selection in the example is a nice metaphor because there's a physical border shared
They were not the same country 30 years ago. Ukraine even had its own vote in the UN.
I almost wrote India and Pakistan as one of the examples. That's a good analogy as well
